Tailoring Digital Intervention for Alcohol Behavior Change
Researchers have developed a new protocol for a randomized trial aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of a digital intervention designed to address alcohol consumption among risky drinkers. Despite existing macro-level interventions, harmful alcohol consumption remains prevalent. The study will employ a three-arm, parallel-group design to evaluate the impact of personalized interventions targeting individual motives for drinking and readiness to change behavior. Participants aged 18 and older will be recruited through web advertisements and social media. They will be divided into two intervention groups: one receiving a standard personalized digital intervention and the other receiving an enhanced version tailored specifically to their drinking motives and readiness to change. The intervention includes weekly screenings, personalized feedback, and behavior planning tools. The trial aims to provide insights into how tailored approaches can improve individual-level interventions for alcohol-related issues.
