Roman Confession

There is an innate craving for

forgiveness shared by humanity,

a desire to be absolved

of our guilt and shames,

to be gently told the

survival of your existence

is understood and acknowledged,

that you can exhale and

loosen your shoulders without fear.

Your being here is accidental and brief,

your being here was imperfect from the start.

Your blood has been replaced with

pure water and

your brittle bones with lightning strikes,

to restart your heart.
