Climb The Corporate Ladder! Ariel Layfield Talks working with Tik Tok, LimeBike, VH1 & BET Networks

Ariel Kanani Layfield is a D suite level executive, most notable for her work with neutron enterprises LLC better known to the public as LimeBike or lime scooters. Before Uber technology Incorporated’s acquisition of Lime, Ariel along with “Head of Global Operations” Lakeysha Hayes, spearheaded the expansion of the app domestically in 120 cities and internationally in over 30 countries leading to a 1-billion-dollar valuation. Ariel’s experience working in tech for notable companies like Tik Tok has given her a superior level understanding on how startups work and connect across cultures.

As an advertising integrity executive what was your main job function and what was it important for Tik Tok to have you on board?

My job with TikTok mainly involved the moderation of the Ad’s that you might see as your mindlessly scrolling for the next cool TikTok dance trend. I feel it was important for the company to have me on board due to the relationship and skills I built over time working with the tech start up Lime.

What is it like being one of the four runners of a company that scaled to a billion-dollar valuation? How was it being with that company from the very beginning.

I am very blessed to have gotten the chance to collab with some incredible people, women, Lakeysha Hayes is a Boss Babe! I loved the fact that I could be a part of something that span from a few bikes on a college campus to scooters and now electric cars all over the Country!

For the readers that want to climb the corporate ladder what is your advice to them, and what type of company culture feels comfortable to you

I would say relationships are key especially when it comes to wanting to genuinely advance within a company. Do good work, trust the PIE system. Performance, Image and Exposure. Meet quotas, maintain a great reputation and image, network with decision makers and people in your company that have influence.

You have a background in media working with companies like VH1 and BET, what was that experience like for you working in Hollywood?

Growing up I was into Fashion, so it was nostalgic to network with Karl Kani, get invited to Chris Brown’s Black Pyramid Fashion shows and be involved with the production of the BET Awards. Being on set with VH1 & Basketball wives was an exhilarating experience that many wish they had the opportunity to participate in, so I promised myself and the person who gave me the opportunity that I would take full advantage of the moment.

2022 will be here in a matter of some days. What plans do you have for quarter 1,2, 3 and 4?

Working on the soundtrack, native branding and advertorial campaign for Metamorphosis the Movie Starring Omar Gooding. I have plans to open a restaurant, starting a social network and who knows, I guess you have to wait and see 😉
