How Max Verstappen Can Still Win The Championship

McLaren has already secured the Constructors’ Championship, but the battle for the Drivers’ title is far from over.

Now, the headlines might make it look like he’s out of the running. “McLaren domination,” “Max can’t win unless there’s a miracle,” and so on. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s that you never count out Max.

Let’s look at the numbers: Oscar Piastri leads the championship with 336 points, Lando Norris follows at 314, and Max sits at 273, a 63-point gap from the top. It sounds huge, sure. But there are still six race weekends left, three of which include sprint races. That’s a massive opportunity to score.

Here’s the math: If Max wins every race left, and Piastri and Norris keep finishing second and third, Max would end the season with 447 points, just two more than Piastri. Sounds crazy, but it’s still possible.

Well, as long as there is a mathematical chance, Max is not the one to give up.

What Can Max Do?

Everything he’s always done — stay focused, keep the pressure on, and beat them all. He is one of the mentally strongest drivers on the grid. We’ve seen him win in the rain, from the back of the grid and even when all the odds are against him.

We’ve seen that McLaren are struggling themselves too. Piastri has missed the podium twice recently, while Max finished ahead of both McLarens in those races.

Piastri and Norris are both chasing their first title, but Max has been here before. He knows what it’s like to fight under pressure and come out on top.

Still Not Convinced That Max Can Turn It Around In Red Bull?

Have a look at what his records have to say:

  • Most wins
  • Most podiums
  • Most laps led
  • Most poles
  • Most fastest laps
  • Most races
  • Most grand slams
  • Most hat-tricks
  • Most laps raced

History Can Repeat Itself

Remember 2010, when Sebastian Vettel stunned everyone by winning the championship in Abu Dhabi without ever leading the standings all season? He entered the final race fourth in points, behind Alonso, Webber, and Hamilton, yet pulled off the impossible, taking the win and the title in one of the most dramatic finishes of Formula 1.

So yes, history can repeat itself. If anyone can turn the tables and pull off a comeback for the ages, it’s Max Verstappen.

What to look out for in the next race?

McLaren might be carrying momentum, but Red Bull’s pace and Max’s determination could flip the story in an instant. He’s got nothing to lose and everything to prove, and that makes him even more dangerous.

The tension is building, the points are tight, and every lap from here on out matters.

So buckle up, the fight is far from over. Austin could be the race that changes everything.
