Somebody Throw Water on The Evil Wizard of Orange and His Flying Monkeys

She may not be green, but behind her extreme Mar-a-Lago face, Noem embodies the Wicked Witch of Oz, down to her pointy-toed cowboy boots and oversized hat. All she’s missing are the striped leggings. Her husband probably borrowed those, along with the sparkly red high heels.

Noem takes the Wicked Witch persona to new depths of depravity. The Wicked Witch in Oz only threatens to kill Dorothy and “your little dog, too.” Noem follows through on evil threats. She kills a dog and kidnaps and cages children. Before she was fired, she commanded her ICE flying monkeys to swarm in, terrify, and capture immigrants, killing two and shooting more in the process.

She is evil in ways the Wicked Witch in Oz only dreamed about. She may not be in charge of DHS any more, but witches don’t change pointy hats when changing positions. She’ll continue her evil ways.

As bizarre as it sounds, Marjorie Taylor Green is currently playing the part of the Good Witch of the South, aka Glinda. Picture her in a sparkly ball gown, wafting down from the sky with her not-so-magic wand to strike fear in the heart of pedos everywhere. People love a Good Witch, even one with a grating southern drawl instead of Glinda’s soothing voice. As in Oz, the Good Witch MTG chooses to fight on the side of good, the opposite of what we expect witches to do.

Swift to do his will. Destroying Munchkins by kidnapping them, caging them in detention camps, or bombing them in schools. Swarming and harming immigrants the way the flying monkeys of Oz swarmed Dorothy and her friends, setting Scarecrow on fire, rusting and freezing Tin Man, terrorizing the Cowardly Lion.

The flying monkeys include all of the Evil Wizard of Orange’s cabinet, all the Republican “leadership” in Congress, the January 6 traitors, ICE goons, Pete Hegseth, misogynist and racist, doing his illegal bidding, and the Emerald Guards — Stephen Miller, the former Attorney General Pam Bondi, Steve Bannon who looks like a flying monkey, press secretaries, et al.

MAGAs are like the tricked and deluded citizens of OZ who believe the Wizard is all-knowing and good. MAGAs continue to believe the Evil Wizard of Orange is good, in spite of him empowering all the Wicked Witches and flying monkeys to commit evil at will, including illegal wars, killings, kidnapping leaders of other countries, destroying families, restricting voting and much more. The citizens have been glamoured by the curtain, amplified voice, smoke and mirrors.

In Oz, the Wizard fought the evil witches. In the U.S., the Evil Wizard of Orange tells them what evils to commit.

Like the Wizard of Oz, ours bumbled into power. He courted celebrity, and instead of landing in a hot-air balloon, floated down to his followers on a golden escalator. The bewitched followers promptly decided he was a great and powerful wizard, and elected him to the highest position in the land.

Unlike the Wizard of Oz, the Evil Wizard of Orange is out in front of the curtain, loud and proud. His curtain is the Supreme Court, hiding him from all consequences of his actions. Unlike the Wizard of Oz curtain, SCOTUS can’t simply be swept aside to reveal the cowardly, blustering fake behind the immunity ruling curtain. Still, the cowardly, blustering fake is there.

The main difference between the Wizard of Oz and the Evil Wizard of Orange, is the Orange one is not a well-intentioned bumbler like the kindly Wizard of Oz. He is an innately evil bumbler. Much more terrifying than any witch.

If only we could wake up and find this has all been a dream. Instead of the waking nightmare it is.
