A City Where Monsters Come Out at Night
When darkness falls, the real residents finally wake up

No one was ever out after sunset in the city of Hollowell.
It wasn’t written in the laws nor was it a lockdown time. It just simply didn’t need that. Everyone just knew.
The city looks like any city during the day. You see cafes that’re open and kids playing near the fountains with water splashing everywhere. Buses drive down the streets..
When the sun goes down everyone can feel that something is different in the air. And so is the city.
Rule 1: Never watch the sunset from outside
Visitors were constantly warned. Some thought it was superstition. Others think it was a vintage survival adventure that had lost its meaning.
But the locals didn’t argue at all.
They must have gone home before dusk, locked the doors and turned off the lights.
Because monsters didn’t hide under beds in Hollowell. They walked openly in the streets looking for their food (human meat & blood).
When The Night Comes
Slowly, it begins. The street lights flicker — no longer from disorder, but from fear, a few say.
The shadows stretch as long as they can, seemingly curling around the corners looking for something. Then the primary sound appears.
A soft, dragging step. Not a human being. Not an animal. Something in the middle.
Behind closed signs, people hear how the city has made adjustments. Then the bakery sign splits as something brushes upwards.
The air is filled with whispers that people do not forget that they are not from any language.
Monsters often don’t look the same. They sometimes appear as tall bodybuilders who just grab and tear apart the ones they see, or sometimes appear as the beautiful girls alluring people to come out of the houses.
But they all obey one rule:
They don’t get into houses who share a strong bond without any fear!
The Secret City Never Speaks Loud
Over time, humans learned something extraordinary.
Monsters don’t show up as invaders. They come out to exist and hunt only for those who show up in their place at their time of roaming around (city in the night).
Hollowell is the creation of something no one likely talks about anymore — forgotten worries, buried guilts, and things the city has chosen no longer to face in the light of day.
Morning Always Comes
At exactly 5:20 a.m., the monsters disappear.
The streets are reset. The noise comes back. People just go about their business.
They are careful and quiet; they do act like they forgot what they heard coming from the walls at night.
They see scratches on the lamp posts or big footprints where a person could not possibly stand. The city is like this. The scratches are from the same thing that makes the noises that people hear at night.
And you will understand the truth Hollowell refuses to speak loud:
The monsters don’t live in the night.
They live in everything the city refuses to face in the day!
