Every Meeting Ends with a Farewell

Life and Farewell

As the saying goes, every meeting will eventually lead to a farewell.

Anyone who comes into our lives will one day leave.

Even our own bodies are something we will eventually part with someday.

Farewell is painful.

There is no denying that. Yet every meeting carries within it the certainty of separation.

It sounds like a simple sentence, but when we actually live through it and experience it ourselves, it becomes anything but simple

There was a time when I felt lost.

I felt broken.

I felt as if God had taken everything away from me.

I was angry.

I was hurt.

I carried resentment in my heart.

Then one day, I realized something ,I had not truly lost anything.

Because I never really owned it in the first place.

God had only entrusted it to me for a while.

He had placed it in my care, and then the Owner simply took it back.

So why was I angry?

I was only a caretaker, not the owner.

The true Owner has the right to take back what belongs to Him at any time and in any way He chooses.

Separation will happen to everyone.

The only difference is the time and the way it happens.

As human beings, we never truly lose anything because nothing was ever completely ours to begin with.

We only believe that we own things.

We become disappointed because of our own expectations.

We convince ourselves that everything belongs to us.

But we are not the real owners.

The true Owner is God.

And when God, the Owner of all things, decides to take something back, it simply returns to where it has always belonged.

We own nothing.

We only feel as though we do.

That is why every meeting is certain to be followed by a farewell.
