Sierra Katow On New Special “Funt,” Upcoming TV Projects & More

Sierra **Katow* is a Los Angeles-based standup comic, writer, and actor. She can be seen playing Evangeline on Mindy Kaling’s The Sex Lives Of College Girls on Max. Previously, she starred in The G Word With Adam Conover on Netflix, voiced characters in Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon, and appeared in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. She has been featured on Season 9 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, NBC’s Last Call With Carson Daly, and Just For Laughs’ Straight Up Stand Up. She previously developed projects for FXX and SK Global, beyond writing for Netflix’s Exploding Kittens, Max’s Close Enough, Disney+’s Earth to Ned, and Disney+’s Eureka*.

Last month, Sierra Katow released her debut standup special ***Funt* via Comedy Dynamics on April 2nd. Later this month, Katow will be one of six comedians profiled in the PBS documentary/travelogue series **Roots Of Comedy With Jesus Trejo, streaming May 24, 2024 and broadcasting June 21, 2024. Within this series, Trejo visits six U.S. regions where he meets with six rising comedians. In Los Angeles, Trejo features actor/comedian Sierra Katow, a fourth-generation Chinese and Japanese-American. Katow is also currently a writer/co-producer for Comedy Central’s upcoming animated series Golden Axe.

In May 2024, I had the pleasure of interviewing Sierra Katow via Zoom, as embedded above and airing via *the Long Beach, New York-based Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz**. Beyond Funt and Golden Axe*, we talked about her studies at Harvard University, comedy influences, her prior work in tech, and hobbies outside of comedy.
