The Power of Istighfar 📿

There is no heart that does not stumble.

No soul that does not carry its share of mistakes.

But Allah, in his mercy, gave us a door that never closes: istighfar – seeking his Forgiveness.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“ By Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him more than seventy times a day.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)

If this was the habit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the one free from sin, then how much more do we need?

Istighfar is not merely a phrase. It is the cry of a soul yearning to return to Allah. It is the quiet admission that without Him, I am nothing, and with Him, I can begin again.

It is the heart admitting its weakness.

And in that admission, you find peace, you find strength, and in that weakness finding the sweetest return.

Every Astagfirullah استغفرالله is like rain falling across an open field. The soil softens, the colours rise, and the flowers begin to push through, one after another. With each word the heart loosens, the dust of neglect is washed away, and with what once felt silent and forgotten becomes a place alive with blossoms.

Every Astagfirullah استغفرالله is a bridge back to Allah after the soul has wandered too far. It is a key turning into a lock you thought was sealed forever. It is dawn breaking after a long night, light spilling across what once seemed lost. With every استغفرالله, a burden unties itself, a veil is drawn back, and the heart finds space to breathe again.

استغفرالله

This word is not light – it is heavy with mercy, heavy with promise. And when this word is spoken sincerely, it feels as though the entire self is gathered up, forgiven, and set gently back upon the path.

And its blessings? Endless.

The Qur’an tells us that Nuh عليه السلام said to his people:

فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا ۝ يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا ۝ وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَارًا

“Seek forgiveness of your Lord; indeed, He is ever a perpetual Forgiver. He will send rain upon you in showers, and give you increase in wealth and children, and provide for you gardens and rivers.” (71:10–12)

Forgiveness brings provision. Forgiveness brings relief. Forgiveness brings light to a weary heart.

So please, please, please whisper it often, in the quiet of dawn, in the hush of night, even in the noise of the day. Whisper it when your heart feels heavy, when your path feels blocked, when your sins weigh upon you. Whisper it when you feel far from Allah, for it is the rope that pulls you back near.

استغفرالله، استغفرالله، استغفرالله.

Again, and again, until your heart softens and your soul breathes free.

Message from me 🤗-

I don’t think I can put it into words how powerful Istighfar is – well I have in this article of istighfar hehe but I really want people out there to try incorporating Istighfar in their day to day life. No matter where you are, what you are doing, just whisper it, not once, but throughout the day, you will too feel the difference. May Allah forgive us for what we have done knowingly and what we have done unknowingly. Forgive us for the times we forgot you, and for the times we remembered but still fell short. Place light in our hearts, peace in our souls, and ease in our days. Make Istighfar a constant on our tongue, and let Your mercy cover us in this life and the next امين📿💗 Thankyou all for reading!!
