The White Swan

Tucked beautifully behind the calf of the Mother, it stays still and silent, looking at Her with the most merciful eye, the Swan has finally reached its home.

It was loitering at the most beautiful lake on Earth but the sky blue mesmerized it more. The swan cried while the people clapped at its beauty, feeling happy to have fed it a few grains but the Swan was eternally looking above at something that the men couldn’t. Up there, it felt a longing call in its heart, like the white clouds as a beautiful dress to a wonderful maiden and the night sky expanding its vastness, the stars capturing a pinch of Her glory, the Swan knew it was there she belonged.

In the organic body, the swan would watch closely at the reflection of the sky on the lake water, it would move along trying to feel what heaven felt like, midst the stars and moon, the sky and the sun, it waddled away, innocently looking for the Mother in the lake but for how long?

It was restless to be embraced by the Mother, it knew it didn’t belong here but when would that day come? When would it go to the Mother?

The swan is in my heart swimming along the periphery as if looking for Mother to emerge. One day maybe, it thinks, it will find the Mother with itself, like in pictures, carefully by the side of Mother Gayatri, the provider of wisdom to Sage Vashishtha and Sage Vishvamitra!

Mother, is it asking for too much? When will you show Your beautiful glory? When will you reveal Yourself, Mother? Maa, let me come back home!
