Q: Tell us a bit about your journey into the world of design. How did it all begin? I’ve always been passionate about art and visual storytelling. My journey began with formal studies in graphic and volume design, where I developed a strong foundation in creating impactful visuals. A pivotal moment came during my internship at Areca, part of the L’Oréal Group. I had the chance to contribute to high-profile projects, including luxury cosmetics packaging. Seeing my ideas not only come to life but also resonate with stakeholders ignited a deep passion for design as a tool to connect with audiences.

From there, my career evolved rapidly. I worked on creating groundbreaking packaging and visuals at Blackandgold, collaborated with major brands like Le Petit Marseillais at Les Z, and later transitioned to freelancing. Each role taught me to adapt to different creative environments, push boundaries, and refine my vision. Today, as an Art Director at Partouche Studio, I oversee dynamic campaigns that combine innovation with strategy, ensuring every design serves a purpose.

Q: What have been some of the most memorable projects in your career? One standout project was creating the complete visual identity for the Lepers Quiz Tour, an event series hosted by Julien Lepers in Partouche casinos. I developed the logo, designed the app interface, and crafted all promotional materials. It was an ambitious project that required mastering a variety of techniques, from 3D design to UI. Seeing how the audience engaged with the concept and how it enhanced the casino experience was incredibly rewarding.

Another highlight was the Le Petit Marseillais packaging redesign. The challenge was to modernize the look while retaining the brand’s established recognition. It was a delicate balance, but the final result struck the perfect chord between familiarity and innovation.

Q: As an Art Director, what drives you creatively? What drives me is the challenge of solving problems through design. I thrive on turning abstract ideas into compelling visual stories that resonate with audiences. For me, creativity is not just about aesthetics; it’s about crafting solutions that align with a brand’s values while being innovative and memorable. Staying inspired is key, and I live by the advice I once received: “Be a sponge.” Absorb everything — art, culture, trends — but filter it to create something uniquely impactful.

Q: How do you balance creativity with the strategic demands of clients? It’s all about collaboration and understanding. I make it a priority to deeply understand a client’s vision and goals. By aligning their needs with creative innovation, I ensure the designs are both visually striking and strategically effective. Whether it’s crafting a campaign to drive foot traffic to casinos or creating packaging that stands out on crowded shelves, I aim to deliver designs that achieve tangible results.

Q: What are your goals moving forward as an Art Director? I want to continue pushing the boundaries of design, exploring emerging technologies like augmented reality and AI to create even more engaging visuals. My goal is to inspire and mentor the next generation of creatives while continuing to work on projects that challenge me. Ultimately, I aim to build designs that leave a lasting impression, not just aesthetically but in how they connect with people.

Q: What advice would you give to aspiring designers and art directors? Stay curious and open to learning. The design world is constantly evolving, and keeping up with trends while honing your unique voice is essential. Collaboration is equally important; no great design happens in isolation. Finally, always remember that design is a tool for communication — make sure your work tells a story and serves a purpose.
