I Thought More Articles Meant More Money — I Was Wrong Here, How I Make $63

What actually worked was writing fewer, but better-focused pieces.

Initially, I did a calculation. If one article is written per day, 30 articles per month. With that, if the number increased, income would also jump; such a blind belief was within me.

The truth is, I was running like a machine. But my bank account or reader count did not move at all.

Quantity? Or Quality?

I was under compulsion to churn out something daily. As soon as I woke up in the morning, the first thing that came was the anxiety, “What shall I write today?”

I would hastily search for topics. I would type something halfway and upload it. Readers are not fools. They know when I write wholeheartedly and when I write out of obligation.

It took me many months to understand that one article that touches a person’s heart is better than a hundred low-quality articles.

That big mistake I made

Someone said that if I write a lot, I can rank higher in search engines (Google). The things I did for that are funny.

• I wrote the same idea repeatedly in different words.
• I gave shallow, superficial information.
• I filled pages without respecting the readers’ time.

The result? People started reading the first two lines of my article and leaving. Google also pushed my site to the last page.

I thought money would come, but even the existing reputation was going away.

When did the change happen?

I didn’t write anything for a week. I was tired. The articles of other writers I read during those holidays made me think.

They wrote only four articles a month. But those four went viral.

Why? Because they had discussed a topic in depth. They had researched and gathered information for that topic. I was just doing “copy-paste” work.

Fewer articles — more benefits

I changed my strategy. I decided to write one article per week. It was surprising. The attention I put into a single article, the information added to it attracted readers.

People started sharing it with their friends. Even though I wrote less, the lifespan of that one article was longer.

That’s what brought me real income.

How to create a good article?

The way I create an article now has completely changed.

Here are the simple methods I follow now:

• Research: If I take a topic, I learn about it thoroughly.
• Personal Experience: Instead of just giving information, I add stories from my life.
• Clear Structure: I divide it into small paragraphs to make it easy to read.
• Editing: I reread what I’ve written and cut out unnecessary words.

Though this takes time, the benefit is immense.

Where is the money?

Writing many articles to get ad revenue is an illusion. In reality, advertisers will seek you out only when people start liking your writing and reading it.

If a reader finishes your article and thinks, “This was useful to me,” they become your permanent fan. If you have a thousand such fans, you are a winner.

Profit lies in creating value rather than quantity.

Readers’ Mindset

In today’s fast-paced world, no one has time to read long, boring pieces.

They need direct solutions.

Simple words.

Genuine human emotions.

If you provide this in an article, they will come back again and again. When you write fewer articles, you get more time to talk with readers.

This is the way to avoid burnout

When there is no compulsion to write daily, writing doesn’t feel like a burden. It becomes a celebration. Only if you write with joy can others enjoy reading it.

Mechanical writing is not liked by anyone. Words that come from the heart reach people.

Why is Quality Important?

A low-quality article can destroy the trust in you. Next time, readers will hesitate to click even if they see your name. But a high-quality article will present you as an expert.

Creating the image that “If this person writes, there will be something substantial” is the success of a writer.

Quality is very important to create that image.

Minimalism — Needed in Writing Too

Minimalism is avoiding unnecessary decorative words. Don’t think, “Only if I use fancy words am I a great writer.” Honestly, say what you know.

Excessive explanations sometimes cause confusion. In short, it will be deeply imprinted in the reader’s mind.

What to do to increase income?

First, see writing as an art, not a business. When you continuously provide good articles, opportunities will automatically seek you out.

Money will come through many ways, like affiliate marketing, sponsorship, or your own books. But the foundation for all these is “reader trust.”

You can gain that trust only through quality articles.

What should you do now?

From today, stop chasing quantity. It’s okay even if you write one or two articles per week. Put your full effort into it.

Think that it should help readers in some way. Try it, and you will see your statistics rise.

A Small Secret

Great successes are always born from patience. Reaching the goal by walking slowly is better than running fast and falling.
