Attraction vs Love: What I Think

I think attraction works in a simple way.

If we see a person every day, we slowly become attracted to that person. But if we don’t see them often, the attraction is not as strong.

The reason is simple: when we see someone every day, we think about them every day. We notice their details. Their habits. Their movements. If we are attracted to them, we start observing them more closely. We try to understand them without even realizing it.

Many times, we confuse attraction with love. We think someone loves us, but maybe they are only attracted to us. Love and attraction are not the same thing.

Attraction depends a lot on presence. It is like a dose — not an addiction, but something that needs repetition. When we see someone again and again, attraction grows. But if we stop seeing them, stop talking to them, stop being around them, that connection slowly weakens.

Love is different.

When attraction turns into love, something changes.

When you think about love, the first picture in your mind becomes that person whom you love.

If you are only attracted to someone, you usually think about them only when you see them or when they are around you. But when you are in love, everything reminds you of them. A song about love makes you think of them. A small memory brings their face to your mind. You don’t feel blank anymore when you think about love. There is always someone there.

That is how I see the difference between attraction and love. Attraction needs presence. Love lives even in absence.
