Designing a Mobile Business Dashboard for Fata Apparel: Simplifying Operations in One Screen
Project Overview 🚀
Role: Product Designer Project Type: Mobile Dashboard Design Platform: Mobile App Focus: Financial Tracking, Inventory Management, and Operational Efficiency
Managing a fashion business involves handling multiple moving parts, sales, inventory, and finances all at once.
Fata Apparel needed a mobile solution that allows them to monitor and manage their operations efficiently, without relying on complex systems or desktop tools.
This project focuses on designing a mobile dashboard that transforms scattered business processes into a clear, actionable, and accessible experience.

The Problem ‼️
From the initial understanding of the business needs, several core challenges emerged:
- Business data (sales, inventory, finance) is not centralized
- Difficult to track performance in real-time
- Manual processes increase risk of human error
- Lack of simple tools for quick daily operations
Business owners don’t need more data, they need clarity and control.
My Approach 🤔
Instead of designing a complex system, I focused on:
“Making business management simple enough to use daily.”
Key principles:
- Prioritize essential metrics only
- Reduce friction in inputting data
- Design for quick actions, not deep navigation
- Ensure everything is accessible within a few taps
What I did:
- Defined key features: Sales, Inventory, Finance
- Structured a simplified navigation system
- Designed flows for both monitoring and inputting data
- AI-assisted ideation to explore feature prioritization

The Solution ⚡️
1. Centralized Home Dashboard
The home screen acts as the control center.
- Displays key metrics like total balance, income, and sales
- Provides quick overview of business performance
- Highlights important changes (increase/decrease indicators)

2. Quick Actions for Daily Operations
Speed is critical for business workflows.
- Added quick actions for:
-Add Sale
-Add Expense
-Add Income
-Stock In / Stock Out
- Reduced steps to perform frequent tasks

3. Dedicated Pages for Key Functions
Each core feature is separated but still connected:
- Sales Page: Track revenue and transactions
- Inventory Page: Monitor stock and movement
- Finance Page: View income, cashflow, and trends
This structure ensures clarity without overwhelming the user.

4. Simple Data Input Experience
Data entry is often the biggest friction.
- Designed clean and minimal input forms
- Reduced unnecessary fields
- Ensured input flows are fast and intuitive

5. Clean and Focused Visual Design
The interface is designed to feel:
- Professional
- Structured
- Easy to scan
Design decisions:
- Dark mode for better focus and reduced visual fatigue
- Strong hierarchy for key numbers
- Consistent card-based layout

Impact 💥
Although this is a conceptual product, the design is focused on real operational improvements:
- Faster daily data input
- Easier tracking of business performance
- Reduced dependency on manual tracking
- Improved decision-making through clear insights
A good dashboard doesn’t just show numbers, it helps users take action.
Key Takeaways ✍🏻
This project taught me that:
- Simplicity is critical in business tools
- Users value speed and clarity over complexity
- A well-designed dashboard can directly support business decisions
If I had more time, I would:
- Validate flows with real business owners
- Measure task completion time improvements
- Explore automation and smart insights features
Closing 🙌🏻
Designing for business operations is not about adding more features, it’s about reducing friction.
Through this mobile dashboard, the goal was to turn complex processes into a simple, daily tool that actually gets used.
