10 Typical Examples of Clickbait on the Internet
Some of this stuff is repetitive.

As many of you know, I write a lot of satire. That is becoming increasingly hard because of just how bizarre the world is becoming. How do you parody a parody? To illustrate the point, I’ve put together some typical and some timely items from the internet. Some of the headlines seen are misleading, while others are accurate and just a reflection of weird things going on. Here we go.
1: What Clint Eastwood has done to ruin his looks?
Mostly what Clint has done is live into his 90s. I see blurbs about how bad various celebrities look all the time. And it’s mostly because they had the audacity to not die young. By the way, for a guy in his 90s. Clint looks pretty good. (Admittedly not the highest of praise.)
2: You are a genius if you can answer 80% of these questions correctly.
And you’re a moron if you believe that.
3: Donald Trump is threatening to sue somebody.
I’m not really sure who. You can fill in the blank.
4: Some celebrity died a horrible death while alone and agonizing about their past.
I think that about covers it. If you actually watch the video, it turns out the celeb died peacefully in their 90s while surrounded by loved ones.
5: Despite losing in her run for Congress, Sarah Palin vows not to quit.
This will be different from when she was the Governor of Alaska.
6: Aaron Rodgers may or may not retire.
This guy is the NFL’s version of the Kardashians. It’s amazing how long he’s been able to string NFL teams along. I’m curious as to how long Rodgers will be able to stay in the spotlight and how, after his playing career is clearly over, he will be able to remain in the public eye. Maybe the public will be ready for some eyewash
7: Scientists have found a planet that may support human life.
That seems a little premature. After all, humans have quite finished trashing this planet.
8: Kim Kardashian, or any of the Kardashians for that matter, strip down for a good cause.
And that good cause can be any one of a number of things, including, it’s Wednesday, or for career advancement.
9: A high-profile college football coach and receives millions of dollars in a contract buyout.
The concept of paying somebody who can’t do a job millions of dollars not to do that job strikes me as a monumental waste of money. No wonder college cost so much.
10: Republicans will holler about the state of Joe Biden’s health and a possible coverup while Democrats will point to what they claim is the decline of Donald Trump’s mental health.
And none of it will matter, though people on both sides of the political aisle will get hot and bothered.
So many of these stories amount to the same thing: “Same pile, different shoe.”
