KUALA LUMPUR, 21 August 2025 — Citaglobal Berhad (“Citaglobal” or the “Group”) has been awarded a contract worth RM168.88 million from Malaysia’s Public Works Department (JKR) for the FT3 Road Upgrade project, following a competitive tender process. The award boosts the value of Citaglobal’s orderbook to RM1.3 billion and further solidifies its reputation as one of Malaysia’s premier civil engineering and construction companies.
On Thursday, Citaglobal’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Citaglobal Land Sdn Bhd, accepted a Letter of Award from JKR for the contract, which involves the upgrade of existing roads, including 6 bridges and 5 junctions, earthworks, geotechnical works, drainage, road pavement, road furniture, traffic management, road and traffic lights, and other miscellaneous works.
The project is part of broader FT3 Federal road upgrade works, which involve expanding Jalan Kota Bharu–Kuala Terengganu from a two-lane single carriageway into a four-lane dual carriageway built to JKR standards. Spanning 739 kilometres, the FT3 highway runs from Rantau Panjang in Kelantan, bordering Thailand, down to Johor Bahru.
The contract will be completed within 42 months from the date of site possession.
Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, Executive Chairman and President of Citaglobal Berhad, said:
“We are proud to have been selected by JKR, through a competitive tender process, as the contractor for the FT3 Road Upgrade project. Securing this contract is a testament to Citaglobal’s reputation as one of Malaysia’s leading civil engineering and construction players and deepens our involvement in nation-building infrastructure projects.
While the Group has made known its intentions to pursue new engines of growth in the renewable energy and technology sectors, the Civil Engineering and Construction business remains a core and stable earnings driver for the Group.
We thank the Ministry of Works and JKR for this opportunity and look forward to another successful project.”
