Eminem vs. Slim Shady: Agent 47’s New Elusive Target Changes The Game

Hitman: World of Assassination has gained significant popularity through its innovative celebrity collaborations. These partnerships introduce well-known personalities into the game’s signature ‘Elusive Targets’ mode. But their latest collaboration could possibly be their biggest yet!

Previously, IO Interactive have partnered with iconic names such as Sean Bean, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and earlier this year even launched a 007 collaboration featuring Mads Mikkelsen reprising the role of Le Chiffre from the 2006 Casino Royale adaptation, which helped build the hype for IO’s upcoming James Bond game, 007: First Light.More recently, we celebrated the video game comeback of martial arts legend Bruce Lee.

Yet, IO’s latest collaboration could be the most monumental to date, featuring undoubtedly one of the world’s most recognisable faces and voices.

On December 1st 2025, Hitman’s latest elusive target mission called ‘The Reflection’, created collaboratively by IO Interactive with Eminem, and creative director/producer Paul Rosenberg, sees Agent 47 team up with world renowned rapper, songwriter and icon, Eminem, to take down a familiar face from Eminem’s past…Slim Shady!

That’s right, Eminem wants the world’s most efficient assassin to take down his alter ego, in a new modified rendition of the Hokkaido map, now under the new name of ‘Popsomp Hills Asylum’.

The ‘Elusive Target’ mode is a high-stakes challenge where players must identify, eliminate, and escape without detection. The mechanic adds tension and exclusivity: failure to complete the objective results in a mandatory waiting period before another attempt can be made, reinforcing the sense of urgency and consequence. This approach not only elevates the game’s replayability but also creates a unique blend of stealth gameplay and pop culture appeal, making each mission feel like a one-time event.

Slim Shady has assumed control of the former hospital, transforming it into a creative sanctuary for an ambitious project aimed at dominating the music scene. Agent 47 is tasked with infiltrating the facility, gaining proximity to Slim without arousing suspicion, and ultimately eliminating the target. This mission seeks to liberate Eminem from his past persona in a mind-bending operation unlike any previous elusive target assignment.

For anyone who is already familiar with Hitman: World of Assassination, and the Hitman franchise in general, you already know that the IO level designers love to put in plenty of easter eggs for players to discover, some are more obvious than others, and this elusive target mission is jam packed with easter eggs for fans of Eminem. The most obvious would be the music playing in the garden area of the map, which will be recognizable to all fans as Eminem’s 2024 hit ‘Houdini’. The game does however include a licensing warning for anyone streaming or recording, giving you the option to turn the music off to avoid any content being removed for copyright infringements by your preferred platform.

The next big easter egg that would be most obvious to fans, would be the words ‘Mom’s Spaghetti’ scattered about the DLC from the restaurant where you can prep Slim’s Spaghetti Sandwich, to the unlockable projectile weapon ‘Jar of Mom’s Spaghetti’. This is of course a reference to lyrics from Eminem’s early release ‘Lose Yourself’ from the 2002 film 8 Mile, which evolved beyond the lyrics to become a real life product and restaurant, beginning life as a pop-up store in 2017 in conjunction with Eminem’s Revival album. In 2021 the brand found permanent residence in Detroit, Michigan.

The aforementioned Hokkaido facility is now renamed to ‘Popsomp Hills Asylum’, which is a reference to the fictional rehab created by Eminem as a marketing tool for his 2009 album ‘Relapse’.

Other easter eggs that can be found are deeper cuts that fans of the rappers music and history will enjoy discovering on their own so I won’t spoil too much more here. However, there is a new mechanic in this level design that feels personal to Eminem, and that is the shattered mirrors, which of course is part of the missions title, The Reflection. Anyone who knows the ‘The Death of Slim Shady’ will remember the video involved Eminem smashing a mirror that had his alter ego Slim reflecting back at him in an attempt to get rid of him. Players will use mirrors to traverse the map and unlock elements of the mission’s story.

This strange dreamscape mechanic is backed by narration from Eminem himself as he communicates with both Agent 47 and Diana to guide 47 through the story.

This latest addition the World of Assassination feels different to the previous celebrity collaboration. Not just because of the mechanics, but because it feels more personal to the celebrity it focuses on. Whilst most celebs are playing characters or are included as a legacy of themselves, Eminem feels like he had something truly personal to bring to this new addition of his quest to kill Slim Shady.

Whilst the this new mission doesn’t take long at all to run through, its vast content of throwbacks and fun easter eggs feel like they makes up for its short runtime. Especially the final cutscene, which **SPOILERS recreates the 2024 album cover of ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)**’ almost perfectly, as we see Slim’s lifeless body before opening his eyes, seen through the zipper of a body bag, leaving the idea of his demise open to interpretation for fans.

As with every new elusive target, there is also a new downloadable pack of goodies for fans to purchase and keep that includes a new suit, a new pistol, explosive, a new projectile weapon, and some cosmetics for the safehouse in Freelancer Mode, inspired by the mission itself. The pack is only £3.99, which has been the set price for all collaboration packs unless on sale, and by purchasing the DLC pack, you can access The Antithesis which is a two-level Arcade contract featuring The Reflection Elusive Target, meaning that you can access the Eminem vs Slim Shady mission anytime you like, even after the limited-time event has passed.

The Reflection is available as a free elusive target from December 1st to the 31st 2025 and completing the mission will allow players to unlock the ‘Only Overalls’ suit which includes the hockey mask that Slim wore in 2001, and if you have your IOI account linked to your game, you will also unlock the new Chainsaw Duck explosive*.

**It has been said that players should allow up to 48 hours for the duck to appear in their inventory.*
