Gratitude and what else

Tomorrow is our apartment cricket tournament. I think whatever level tournaments are at, there will always be a passion and zeal to secure that trophy and make a mark. I am partly nervous because there are a lot of hard hitters in the other teams and I really need to step up if I want my team to make it. I am practically their only hope for a hitter. I really want our team to be the underdogs. People think we will lose but I so badly want to prove them wrong and secure that trophy. Especially to ensure Shreeya does not win her hattrick trophy and prove to people like Kiran uncle that we are worthy of being coached too. He conveniently coaches the team which he thinks has the highest probability of winning only. I want to see the look on his smug face when we absolutely demolish their team tomorrow. First match is against theirs though. So we either start it off at an ABSOLUTE HIGH or a bitter start which may or may not affect the pressure and result on the rest of the matches. The main thing is we can’t let Shreeya hit because she is the only one who can play in that team and she reads every ball and whacks it so well. Somehow my balls dont travel as far as hers do so I keep getting caught on long-on. I hope I play all eight overs without getting out and should not drop a single catch also. This year something has gone wrong with my catching because I have dropped so many during the practise matches, and these are easy ones which come so naturally to me so something feels out of sync. I have never been afraid or shy away from catching but suddenly I am so I really do hope everything falls into place on the tournament day. It doesn’t matter how one performs during practise, it all comes down to stepping up when it really matters and I hope to prove myself on the field directly. The goal is to come out with the MVP trophy and the winning trophy, so please pray for me.
