It’s that time of the month and I am not happy about it.
I am having my period, and I am trying to manage it as good as I can.
It's nothing new and nothing worth writing home about.
No cramps for me since I had kids, a bonus for me.
When my period it comes it slows down my life.
For example, I have to figure out what I can’t wear. I have to figure out what product I can use. Tampons for light days and pads for heavy days. I am not the type of girl who uses tampons on heavy days. Not worth the risk of leaking and staining my clothing.
My period usually lasts 6 to 7 days. The 4th day is the worst and the end of my period I usually use tampons since my flow is lighter.
The average menstrual cycle lasts 28 days, with periods typically lasting 2 to 7 days, though normal cycles can range from 21 to 35 days.
Plus, the risk of a leak or a stain or something worse. Not having a tampon or pad to use.
Like most girls my period is annoying. Ask any woman with an active period cycle in her life. You are likely to get the same response.
You probably have seen the period commercials for pads and tampons and how it claims that theirs pads wont bunch and wont leak.
I find it funny, of course your pad will bunch and your tampon leak. Unless you're on your slow days. Not all women menstruate the same. Just like how all women are different, all periods are different.
Some women have easy periods while some have heavy, while others have no issues during theirs.
The commercials look so sickly perfect. The woman in the commercials look so happy about their period.
Period product ads have long used blue liquid to represent menstrual blood, a practice rooted in deep cultural taboos about menstruation. Historically, menstruation was seen as impure, leading to exclusion from religious and social spaces, and menstrual blood was avoided in mainstream media. This stigma meant that menstrual blood never appeared on the Hays Code list for Hollywood films, and in advertising, it was often replaced with a clinical blue liquid to avoid discomfort or controversy
Anyways, the commercials are misleading. Just remember they are trying to sell you something.
