The Point of No Return

Lucky for me with aging that the nature of the mind and its clarity is NOT age dependent. It is unborn or just there. Inside this ageing body is the same 20-year-old mind I had back then. Our perspective and view changes as we age, but not the clarity once we reach what is called the Prime of Life, somewhere around that first Saturn return of about 30 years (29.4).

I call it the ‘Turning Point’ or ‘The Point of No Return’, the point where we stop growing our body and begin turning around and looking inward or back. The Christians call it “Being Born Again,” yet it is available to all of us.

Another way of saying this is that we stop being reflected in those older than us as we were as youths and begin ourselves to reflect others. That IS the turning point, the point of no return when we begin to turn.

To me this is the ‘Grand Mudra’, the sweeping gesture that describes the rise and fall of all things. In the Dharma this is called “Mahamudra.”

Whoosh.
