OMG! Can Folic Acid Really Do This?
This is not medical advice, but, hell, this is something else!

My sister and I in San Diego in 2009 on our way out to a night of dancing. I was 58 and she was 56.
As many of you know, I’ve been struggling with my health for the past two years. Several things have gone wrong, and I haven’t been able to figure it out. Doctors have been beyond useless. Then, again, for a life time, I’ve had to figure out my medical condition because doctors just don’t diagnose — not scientifically, anyway.
My affair with folic acid began when I was in my early 30s, and I got very ill. The doctors (some very fancy doctors) told me that there was nothing they could do, that my immune system had broken down, and that was that.
I recall telling one doctor that if he couldn’t heal me, then I would heal myself. He said, “Good luck with that. You won’t be able to.”
So I did.
A year later, when I gave birth to my daughter, the gynaecologist wanted to know if I was a sportsman, because he had never seen someone in such an excellent state of health giving birth in her mid-30s for the first time.
A year earlier, my hair had started going grey. I had healed myself through diet and mega vitamin and mega mineral therapy. So I did some research on what turned hair grey. You see, there’s this anomaly on my mother’s side — we don’t go grey. So I shouldn’t have.
I read that when dogs started going grey, they were given folic acid (folate), so I took them. Yes, you’ve guessed it — the grey got lost and I had lovely black/brown hair for decades after that.
While COVID-19 vaccination can cause fever in some patients (up to 16% of those vaccinated and mostly after the second dose), this risk should not be a concern when deciding whether to vaccinate a pregnant individual or a patient desiring pregnancy. While fever in pregnancy (particularly the 1st trimester) has been associated with an increased risk of neural tube defects, a recent study demonstrated the association no longer remained significant if the patient is taking >400 mcg of folic acid daily. Folic acid treatment decreased the binding ability of Spike protein, pseudovirus and inactivated authentic SARS-CoV-2 to host cells. Thus, folic acid treatment could decrease SARS-CoV-2 invasion and SARS-CoV-2-neutralizing antibody production in mice. These data suggest that increased intake of folic acid may inhibit ACE2 expression and reduce the transmissibility of SARS-CoV-2. Folic acid could play an important role in SARS-CoV-2 infection prevention and control. Source
Some side effects of this vaccine were reported previously, including pain at the vaccination site, fatigue, lethargy, headache, and tenderness, which were more prevalent among individuals <49 years old. … Given the possible diagnosis of megaloblastic/pernicious anemia, vitamin B12 was checked and reported its level was lower than usual. (<150 pg/ml) The patient was discharged after receiving a packed cell, vitamin B12, and folic acid. Source
Covid and folate (folic acid)
About six months after I had my vaccination (second one), I went to have my hair cut. I’m not much for looking after my hair — normally tie it up and leave it. So while I was having it cut, I was stunned to find that about six inches down from the crown of my head, I found a ring of grey. It was quite marked. Something had happened to me six months earlier that had made my hair start turning grey.
I immediately suspected that the vaccination affected the folate levels in the body, and I quickly started looking for the abstracts. Indeed, it did. However, from that time until this time, I just have been too weak — kidneys, and several other issues — took up my time. In addition, I had a really bad fall, and it took out my knee, my ankle, and my back. Talk about health wars!
My doctor was less than useless, so I experimented — acupuncture upped my GPR for my kidneys, but the moment I stopped treatment, it reverted back to its previous low levels. Then I started using red light therapy (ordered machine through Ali Baba) and it’s now out of the danger zone.
Still, I was so tired, and I was over-eating as a result of depression and over-tiredness, things which are very foreign to my nature.
I gradually changed a few things — lemon and honey water to stimulate bile in the liver, switching to only protein (meat) and veggies), very little fruit, some seeds, cutting out milk, etc. And, then, a week or ten days ago, I decided to up my folic acid. There was 400 international units in my multi-vitamin, but I decided to add another 400 international units. I’m not sure why, but something must have twigged inside my head.
Holy shit!
I kid you not.
Within 48 hours, I started smiling again. My head started working again. I got a new reign on life. Suddenly, life didn’t seem dreary. I keep finding things to do. My lethargy has lifted. My despair has gone. My ‘depression’ has departed to places best not known about.
More importantly, I have struggled up a particularly steep hill for the past two years. Even, after the fall, with a walking stick, it wasn’t easy. I was out of breath and had to stop every few steps.
Yesterday, I practically ran up that hill — no walking stick!
It’s now been a week. I don’t want to speak too soon, because, well, I do make mistakes. It might have been the lemon water, or the fact that I decided to stop trying to earn a living, or maybe it’s my upcoming trip to Rome, the Amalfi Coast, and Malta.
However, I don’t think so.
I have since checked what folic acid does in the body. Here it is?
- Many recent studies have reported that folic acid can reduce the inflammatory response. Based on available literature, the mechanism by which folic acid represses inflammation stems from repressing nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway. Source
- Among them, folic acid, or its active form, L-methylfolate, shows promise due to folate’s association with an elevated risk of depression, severe depressive symptoms, prolonged duration of depressive episodes, and increased likelihood of relapse. The link between inadequate diet and the risk of depression is well-established [24]. Presently, there is an increasing interest in enhancing diets or utilizing particular dietary components to optimize outcomes in depression treatment. Source
- Low folate was associated with accelerated decline in cognitive function and is an important marker for cognitive decline among older people. *Source*
- Additionally, the most recent research has identified a correlation between folate deficiency and a progression in the radiographic severity of OA within the knee joints. Source
- For women aged 20–50 years, there was a non-linear association between folate intake and severe headache in the RCS. Women aged 20–50 years should have higher awareness of dietary folate and increase their dietary intake of folate, which may aid in preventing severe headache. Source
- Folic acid (FA) is one of the B complex vitamins. It is thought that FA deficiency promotes atherosclerosis formation in arterial endothelium. FA, acting through reducing homocysteine (Hcy) levels, may contribute to decreased cholesterol (Ch) synthesis. Source
Oh, I remember what made me look at folic acid again. I looked at one of the latest abstracts and it showed a correlation between autism and low folic volumes.
I am, of course, over the moon! I am so happy to have me back. Naturally, I’ve now got my energy back, and I can now work on losing the weight, the inflammation, the cognitive decline, and, yes, I’m going to say to all those doctors who were quite willing to let me grow increasingly weaker with old age, “Doctor, you should be ashamed of yourself!”
Addendum Last night I went for a walk. As I was zooming along, someone stopped me and I saw a friend. He said he was looking at me from afar, trying to figure if it was me, but I was walking too fast, and I had no walking stick. Then he realized it was me as I came up to him. He said he was stunned, that he had never seen such a remarkable difference in anyone — the smile, the cheerfulness, the energy, walking at a helluve speed, no walking stick, etc.
Please don’t assume that because you have similar conditions that this will work for you. I have been interested in personal physical healing since 1982 when the doctors told me there was no cure. I have learnt a lot. I work with red light therapy, vitamins, minerals, food/diet, and exercise. I also read the science regularly.
Guys, you can support me at the link under my bio. :) I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.
