“Life lately “

“I cannot make you understand. I cannot make anyone understand what is happening inside me. I cannot even explain it to myself.” Franz Kafka
It has been days, weeks, maybe even months — I’ve lost count. Time slips through me like sand, and yet every morning I wake up with the same weight pressing down. I feel tied up, as if the world around me is moving in a rhythm I cannot follow.
It is more than just fatigue; it is as though invisible ropes are wrapped around my ankles, slowing me down while everyone else rushes forward. I watch life unfold and I stumble, dragged by threads I cannot see but always feel.
Other days, the sensation shifts. I feel misplaced, as though I am living inside a house where none of the doors open. The walls stand tall, the windows sealed, and yet I must remain there because there is no other choice. It is not a home, but a cage disguised as shelter.
In these moments, emptiness takes over. Too empty to care, too empty to take initiative, too empty to even attempt fixing the chaos that surrounds me. And strangely, I no longer see it as a problem. Perhaps because I have grown used to it, perhaps because numbness has become routine.
My entourage insists I should talk, that words will untangle the knots. But talking feels useless when I myself do not know what is happening inside. How can I explain a storm when I cannot even trace its origin? The only certainty I hold is that everything within is a mess.
Sharing feels like a burden. Even the thought of opening up is exhausting, too heavy, too much. It drains me before I even begin. So I choose silence. Silence becomes survival, and survival becomes habit. Slowly, this emptiness transforms into a daily usual feeling — not extraordinary, not alarming, just the background rhythm of existence.
And yet, the only step I take is to write it down. Perhaps there are solutions, perhaps there are paths I have not yet seen — but the problem is that I fear nothing will ever change in the meantime. So I write, because writing gives shape to the invisible ropes. It does not fix the chaos, and maybe I do not want it fixed. I have tried before, but nothing works. At least I am self‑aware — sadly, painfully aware.
Or maybe that is the first step: not talking to others, not explaining what cannot be explained, but simply admitting to myself that this is where I stand. Misplaced, tied, emptied — but still here, still breathing, still writing.
This diary has become my safe space. I treat it as if the act of writing could cure the curse, as if words could dissolve the knots. But it doesn’t work that way. It is not medicine, not salvation. It is only a mirror — my mirror. And sometimes, seeing the blurred reflection is enough .Enough to remind me that even in chaos, I can still survive .
