First Love

Before I met you my life was blue, when I met you it’s like you already knew, your smile can brighten up this whole town, but it looks like you’ve been down. When I was young I wasn’t looking for love, but now my mind is stuck to you like glue, in the past you were only my friend. That’s everything I was before I met you.

I wrote this poem when I was in love with you, before understanding I wasn’t meant to be with you. My first love, you aren’t my greatest love nor are you my first LOVE, but you were the first one to defrost this heart of mine. To let me feel the warmth of love up until the summer time. That Tuesday morning when I fell out of love, it felt like starting a book reaching its rising point. Ever since my story has been rising and rising because of you. Without you my pathetic life would still be blue, my heart would be as cold as ice, my story would start late, my passion would die without motivation. My poems would be bland, the love songs would feel cringe, love would feel childish. What I’m trying to say is everything I am and everything I will become started when I fell in love with you. From our first meeting you sparked something in me, like a glimmer of hope in an endless darkness. With your smile as bright as the sun, melted this frozen heart. I was nothing before I met you, but when I met you, you already knew what you had to do.
