People of India are being robbed of Cinema!

So as you all know The Boys Season 5 released on April 8th. Been waiting for this since 2 years literally every single day. I even re-watched the whole series again, like twice just to catch-up with the current season. While re-watching the series I never felt like I missed anything, all the gore, all the jokes, all the swears, everything was here, none of it felt censored or cut.

And two days back I saw S5 E1, one dialogue was censored, I mean like completely, I thought maybe it was too racist that’s why the creators decided to censor it all together “globally”, at least that’s what I thought. Yesterday I saw a reel where a guy explained that we are getting the censored version of The Boys and naturally I did some digging around, went on a few news websites, and found out it was actually true.

They cut out a joke on basically a God, it wasn’t even offensive to be honest in my opinion, the character just told they don’t believe in god in a satirical way. And apparently in the second episode also they censored the violence in some of the scenes making it less gore. I might get a hate for this, but we are being robbed of it completely. Alright, it is offensive, so what?

The Boys has shown a lot of racist jokes before on different communities world wide but we had no problem then watching it right, then no-one cared about censorship and feelings and just laughed it off. And let’s be real in various movies also they show discrimination against a lot of communities, but they don’t have any problem with that they just laugh it off, because it’s just fictional. Those dialogues, scenes were important for the plot, they are important for the character and they should be viewed in that way alone and not be taken personally.

Sure we have to draw a fine line between jokes and actual discrimination but I didn’t feel like The Boys never crossed that line. They made various jokes on all communities equally to be honest, and it’s rated “A” for a reason, only for mature audiences. Apparently everyone is so offended by TV shows, yet don’t see reality for what it is, all these words and stuff against each other is shown in reality, in real life, try censoring that, try taking an action against that. They can’t control that but choosing to censor some fictional show, which has already warned it’s user that it has made some jokes about religion in a satirical way and only to be viewed as fiction.

To be honest it’s not only this, it’s also Dhurandhar 2, 3hrs 49 minutes in India, and 3hrs 55 minutes globally?? An Indian made film censored by Indians themselves while foreigners get to view the whole film without any feeling of being robbed. It’s not only these simple swear words, that people who use it on a daily basis suddenly feel bad it’s shown in a movie? How is that any fair to anyone. This is why India lacks behind in cinema they have huge potential but everything is being censored, even violence scenes, like we have seen worse stuff in Hollywood worse than Uzair Baloch playing football, we handled that we can definitely handle those 6 minutes as well.

It’s not only about the cinema we lost but about the money we pay, to all these OTT’s and Theatres and everything just to watch the full content from the directors view. People literally can handle the truth, and if they can’t they have more actual issues to worry about than crying over a movie which told one bad joke that you can’t handle. This is also one of the reasons piracy will increase now, at least piracy sites give you an unfiltered experience instead of feeding you half truth.

Think about it is it really censorship if a whole country wants to see unfiltered truth and like 10 people can’t handle it? Because there will always be stuff people can’t handle that happens in real life, but at that time they choose to shut up, but then attack upon a cinema, is it really fair for a country to ruin it’s own talent in the name of censorship?
