March Newsletter

Welcome to the MarieAnne and Friends newsletter. Spring should be just around the corner. Little chilly for my jog this morning. Became a sunny 61 as I write this newsletter. I’m ready for it to be a little warmer. We didn’t get the snow we needed. Could be a dry summer. Not good.
Wrote a 30-minute radio play using Gemini as my research assistant. I had to slap him down a couple times. He wants to do the writing. Working on a take-off of “Eli’s Coming” to go with the play. It’s political, so I don’t expect it to go anywhere. Had fun with the WDC contest this month. The prompt was ‘Gothic’, not a favorite genre. You should see it in a couple months.
The submittals for this month run from current (two months ago) to a few years ago. Hope you like them. The reviews for Virga could have been better.
My play was wishful thinking. I found the hacker who gave the election to bozo courtesy of a gen 4 quantum computer. His conscience got the better of him. So he set about putting things right. He got a little help from Claire, a NSA senior executive. Happy ending. Kamala is sworn in. It’s good being a writer. You can make a world you want to live in.
If you’re thinking about writing, don’t let publishing be a major concern. Self-publishing is becoming accepted. It couldn’t be easier. It may be a backdoor to traditional publishing, if you want to go that way. Build a following and the publishers may let you in the front door. Publishing is easy, marketing is not. I’m trying to crack that nut. It may be the basis for a business model for Intercede.
In time, as we get to know each other better and you tell me what you would like to know about MarieAnne, this section will expand. For now, I will add short stories or other tidbits which I think you may enjoy. You might find it convenient to use Chat at MarieAnne’s website.

Virga
The prompt was the picture. I made it a mystery. The reviews were okay, I was hoping for more. I enjoyed reading this story. I liked the direction you took the plot. It was a unique take on the photo prompt. It was great use of the picture prompt. I could picture where they were traveling by the backdrop of the photo. Overall, it’s a great premise and very entertaining.

The Paper
From the archives. Story about jealousy and friendship, mostly friendship. Nice review: Thank you for the opportunity to read this amazingly well crafted and touching story. Excellent images and lessons created.

Naked
From the archives. Just for fun. Contest entry: Dialog only. Nice review. A good style and I appreciate the humor in this. Well rounded characters and a good presentation.
The latest in what is happening to MarieAnne and Friends
Well, that’s about it from Salt Lake. Sunny and low 60s. Could be a great Spring. Well, that’s about it. Take care and get out there. Note: this is from a hermit, who may get out 5 or 6 times a week.
