Morning Frog

Some frogs are mostly nocturnal, coming out at night and being less active during the day. The Bullfrog (Rana catesbeiana) is the largest frog we have around here in northern Michigan and it is mostly nocturnal.

I can’t see much at night, but this morning I went out early as the sun was coming up and took a photo of this frog, not a Bullfrog but a female Green Frog (Rana clamitans) enjoying the morning rays. I guess the Bullfrogs were off the clock.

These days are warm enough and the sun is out, so I am out too, ignoring what I should or have to do and doing what I want to do, which is visit with frogs.
