I am a software developer in training with an interest in creating practical and efficient solutions. I have been learning programming through my studies in Software Analysis and Development. I enjoy solving problems and improving my logical reasoning. Although I faced challenges at first, I have gained confidence in my abilities. In the future, my goal is to continue growing as a developer by learning new technologies.

My Journey as a Developer

I’ve been learning programming since I started studying software analysis and development technology at SENA, although my first contact with anything resembling programming was with HTML and CSS in high school, and it was superficial. Since then, I’ve improved a lot thanks to practice and working with technologies like JavaScript and Python using Django.

At first, many concepts were difficult for me, although now some seem much easier to understand. I’ve developed better problem-solving skills by improving my logic, which has helped me write more organized code compared to my previous work.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is adapting to a routine and maintaining discipline, since consistency isn’t something that comes naturally to me. However, this process has made me more aware of how I learn, which has helped me improve over time.

A Technology That Changed My Learning

The technologies that have transformed my learning process are artificial intelligence, especially tools like Claude and code autocompletion in Visual Studio Code. These tools are used in software development, and repetitive tasks are reduced, as they were previously performed manually.

Furthermore, problems are solved faster thanks to the solutions and explanations provided. Therefore, learning becomes less frustrating. However, there are also disadvantages. Sometimes, solutions are offered but not fully understood, and the depth of learning can be affected.

Another problem is that procrastination can be increased, as it is easy to think that everything can be done later with the help of AI and tasks can be left incomplete or without fully understanding what was done.

Solving a Real Problem

A real problem I faced related to development was the lack of storage space on my phone, which made file management difficult. I needed a solution to efficiently transfer and store my data.

My idea was to create a NAS (Network Attached Storage). To do this, I set up a local server with Docker and Nextcloud on my PC, which allowed for easy access and file uploads, but only within my local network. The solution works well for organizing and storing data locally.

However, I wanted to access it from anywhere with an internet connection. If my internet provider allowed me to open the ports, I could access the server remotely. Unfortunately, this wasn’t possible because the necessary ports (80 HTTP and 443 HTTPS ) are blocked.

In conclusion, this solution works locally, but for remote access, I need to consider other alternatives. I could use services like Cloudflare Tunnel or switch internet providers. Unless I find an alternative solution, the project will be put on hold.

My Future in Tech

My future in technology isn’t completely defined yet. I could continue in software development, but I’m also interested in learning other things that aren’t directly related to programming, which might lead me down different paths or perhaps allow me to combine them in the future.

I want to learn new things and new technologies that I consider useful and applicable. Furthermore, I will continue to improve my skills through practice, and I am going to explore different areas of technology.

I would like to create my own projects instead of working only for a company because I believe that building something personal is the best way to grow and make a difference.

I’m not completely sure about my future, but that doesn’t worry me. I believe that if I continue learning and exploring different areas, I will probably find the right path.
