G20 Summit 2023 topics discussion with the ministry of health and safety and security

One of the topics that will be discussed by the ministry of health and safety and security is the One Health Approach, which is a holistic and multidisciplinary framework to address the interrelated health risks of humans, animals, and the environment. The One Health Approach aims to prevent, detect, and respond to health emergencies, such as pandemics, zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and environmental degradation1. The ministry of health and safety and security will also discuss how to improve the accessibility and availability of safe, effective, quality, and affordable medical countermeasures, such as vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics, especially for developing countries. This will involve strengthening cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, enhancing research and development and innovation, and promoting digital health solutions2. Additionally, the ministry of health and safety and security will address the impact of climate change on health and food security, as well as the role of traditional medicine in health care delivery3.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the G20 Summit 2023, the host country India has taken several measures to enhance the security arrangements for the event. About 1.3 lakh security personnel will be deployed in Delhi, including paramilitary forces, Delhi Police, National Security Guard, and Special Protection Group4. The security personnel will be equipped with advanced gadgets and weapons, such as drones, snipers, bomb disposal squads, anti-sabotage teams, and surveillance cameras5. The venue of the summit, Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition-Convention Centre (IECC), has been fortified with multiple layers of security checks and barricades6. The visiting dignitaries will be provided with bulletproof limousines and escorted by commandos in their motorcades7. The airspace over Delhi will be monitored by fighter jets and helicopters8. The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for the public to avoid certain roads and areas during the summit9.
