Santa in January: TreeKle Brings Joy and Scholarships to LASU Students

They say every storm has a silver lining and for LASU students on January 29, 2024, that silver lining came in the form of TreeKle’s Santa in January activation.

Despite the rainy start, the campus was soon buzzing with excitement as students danced to good music, played fun games, and took part in an event that wasn’t just about entertainment…it was about empowerment, opportunity and community.

A Day of Fun, Games and Big Wins

The students eagerly participated in games like basketball, spin the wheel, limbo and Xs & Os, hoping to win exciting merch, including T-shirts, notepads, water bottles, and tote bags.

To take part, all they had to do was:

• Download the TreeKle app
• Sign in and perform a minimum of N100 transaction on the marketplace
• Receive a raffle ticket

Each raffle ticket had two benefits:

• Use it to play games and win merch
• Enter the grand raffle draw for a chance to win a TreeKle scholarship

Changing Lives: 5 Scholarships Awarded

The highlight of the event was the TreeKle Scholarship Award, where five lucky students were granted scholarships that will go a long way in supporting their education. • Fujah Arafat — 200-level, Philosophy
• Adeosun Oluwadunsin Joel — 300-level, History and International Studies
• Familusi Daniel Olamilekan — 300-level, Philosophy
• Sotayo Feyisayo Oyinkansola — 100-level, Linguistics, African Languages, and Communication Arts

For many of the winners, this scholarship meant more than just financial relief — it was a life-changing moment.

In addition to the scholarships, 20 students received meal tickets, ensuring that they had one less thing to worry about as they focused on their studies.

Santa in January wasn’t just about giveaways; it was about showing students that they have a platform designed to support them.
