Men Be ready to Love Your Wife or Don't Go into Marriage

So, in my previous post, I talked about how that ladies must be ready to submit and then understand the importance of submission before they can go into marriage.

In today’s post, just like I promised, I am going to be talking about the men side of this conversation, why men must be ready to love their wives before going into marriage.

Ephesians 5:25 says “Husbands, love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it” As a man you have no excuse not to love your wife and because the word of God admonishes us to do so.

And so when there is Love and Submission, marriages can stand. Therefore, if you are not proud to Love or Submission, then this is the first step to a successful marriage relationship.

Mind you, men need to understand that love goes beyond saying “I love you” love is sacrifice, patient, tolerance, forgiveness, acceptance and this goes both ways and so both spouse must understand that if these are not your definition of Love, then you are not ready for marriage.

Women according to scriptures are identified as weaker vessel, so as a man you need to love your wife because your love shields and protect her, just as you would protect your own skin. Ephesians 5:28 say “So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself”

If you don’t love your wife, it simply means you don’t love yourself as a man because you wife is your first neighbor. Scriptures says “Love your neighbor as you love yourself “

These are key points amongst others that men needs to build intentionally on because these are foundational steps. Once there is genuine Love and Submission in a marriage, every other thing falls into place.

Verse 33 of same Ephesians 5 says “Nevertheless, let everyone of you in particular so love his wife even as himself, and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”

For any man reading this today, take these steps and be intentional about it and see how your home will be that of a honeycomb.
