My Fundraising Experience

This activity was truly impactful, as we partnered with the Edhi Foundation for a fundraising drive. This was a completely new experience for me, especially since public speaking and engaging in conversations have always been a challenge. I learned a great deal from the process.

I went out to raise funds with a batch group of five people. We encountered a variety of responses: some individuals were very enthusiastic, while others were inattentive or simply declined our request.

In my opinion, our biggest hurdle was the lack of public awareness about the specific foundation we were raising funds for. We also faced obstacles related to the weather and people questioning the legitimacy of our collection efforts. Many people we approached responded by saying they had already donated to the organization online.

However, this experience was invaluable in helping me reduce my hesitation when speaking with strangers and in learning to accept rejection. Although many people rejected us, a significant number of individuals did donate. In one memorable instance, a person actually hurried back to call out to us just to make a donation.

I think, these kinds of events and projects should be done frequently in our country. As it has a huge effect on people’s life.
