WE ARE CREATING NEW MATERIALS

We are Industrial designers, and materials kind off define the possibilities of our ideas or solutions. We have been working a lot on analyzing and reflecting all the knowledge we learned from past years.

The best way to learn is to work closely with experts who you can learn from, to start 2016 we have been studying and applying new options of materials that reflect our values and ideals in relation with previous collaborations!

Planning and prototyping

Every material thought and applied for this project was carefully selected / made depending on the language or meaning it reflects.

Let’s experiment with physical rules, question process and get to new materials and results! This is the Material 04 = M.04 of our experimental material library, as a studio we seek to explore new possibilities as we create. M.04 is a mixture that resembles and imitates one of the most beautiful Mexican stones: The volcanic stone used normally for “molcajetes” —a kitchen tool were people of our culture prepare salsas and guacamole. The difference between the real stone and our material is that M.04 physical characteristics can adapt to any form you design, introducing the mixture into a mold. This new material is softer, lighter and more dynamic than the original stone.
