SOLUTION

• Spain’s Ministry of Agriculture implemented Program A.G.U.A., the national desalination plan, to secure alternative freshwater sources.
• A consortium, including Veolia Water Technologies, designed, constructed, operated, and maintains a desalination plant in Campo de Dalías.
• Toray, the sole membrane supplier, utilized a two-pass reverse osmosis system.
• The plant, completed in November 2014, produces nearly 100,000 cubic meters of fresh water daily. It sustains 300,000 people and irrigates over 8,000 hectares of land.
• Toray’s high-rejection, energy-efficient RO (TMGD series) effectively removes selenium at reduced feed pressures, ensuring long term energy cost savings for the plant
