CROSS Monthly Growth Stats — May 2026

In May, CROSS Grew on Every Layer at Once

Most months, growth is uneven. Users climb while activity stalls, or capital flows in while the network stays quiet. May 2026 was different. Across the CROSS Gamechain ecosystem, people, capital, and on-chain activity all compounded in the same month — not one metric carrying the rest, but every layer moving together.

This is what a network looks like when it shifts from holding to participating. CROSS Mainnet 2.0 — the “Breakpoint” upgrade — was built to move the ecosystem from a holding-centered structure toward a participation-based network. May was the first full month of that thesis playing out on-chain.

Adoption: a wider base

New users reached a record. Monthly new registered users (NRU) climbed to 330,658 in May — an all-time high, up from 105,741 last December.

Wallets and transactions tell the same story at the infrastructure level. Mainnet wallets grew to 2.12M, up +106.7% since January, while on-chain transactions reached 13.21M for the month — up +202.3% from 4.37M in January.

More wallets and more transactions, growing in step with new users, mean the base of people actually using CROSS is widening — not just signing up.

On-chain fundamentals: from spike to structure

The capital side of the network deepened just as quickly. Total Value On-chain (TVO) reached $82.63M in May, up +1,323.3% over two months from $5.81M in March. After jumping to $82.26M in April, TVO held steady through May — a sign the surge is consolidating into structure rather than fading as a one-off.

Total Value Locked (TVL) tells the more telling story. It rose from $1.46M in March to $17.58M in April and continued climbing to $19.93M in May — up +1,268.4% over the same window. Unlike TVO, TVL kept growing into May, meaning the participation base is getting deeper month over month.

Staking reflects the same trend. CROSS staked grew from 168.54M CROSS ($16.98M) in April to 200.37M CROSS in May — a +18.9% month-over-month increase, worth $19.59M (+15.4% MoM). This is the participation-based network the Breakpoint upgrade was designed to enable: value committed by people choosing to take part, not merely to hold.

A diversifying on-chain economy

Beyond raw transactions, May showed an ecosystem expanding into a multi-layered, real-use economy.

🔹 NFTs: total minted NFTs reached 3.46M, up +744.2% since February.

🔹 CROSSD settlement: monthly DEX volume for CROSSD — the USDT-collateralized settlement token — grew roughly 8.5x from January to May, including a +218.8% breakout from March to April.

🔹 Prediction markets: monthly transaction volume rose from $19,661 in April to $67,330 in May, a +242% month-over-month jump (3.4x).

🔹 Creators: total streamers on CROSS Wave reached 44,356, up +1,505.9% — roughly 16x — since January.

NFTs, on-chain settlement, prediction markets, and creators: four very different forms of activity, all growing at once. That breadth is what separates a single busy product from an ecosystem.

What this means

May was not about one breakout number. It was about correlation — adoption, fundamentals, and economic diversity moving in the same direction in the same month. That alignment is what the Breakpoint upgrade set out to create: a network where participation, not passive holding, drives growth.

One month is not a trend, and the Opengame Foundation shares these figures as a steward of the ecosystem, not a promoter of it. But the shape of May’s data — broad, consolidating, and diversifying — is the shape of a network settling onto a healthier foundation. We will keep sharing what the on-chain record shows, month over month.
