Fierce, Free, and Fearless

Women have no representation. They are a story written — an aura of galaxies, different from each other and spectacular in varied horizons. You cannot simply categorize them based on how they think and how their spirits are determined and unrestrained — free as wind yet strong as the sun.

If a movie captured a modicum of each woman with a strong sense of conviction yet symbolizing innocence, it was Little Women by Greta Gerwig.

These women represented varied aspects of me- each one of them so similar yet delivered different sentiments both empowering and unwavering. The movie revolves around four young ladies-Meg,Amy,Jo and Beth.

Meg March embodies the complexities of ambition and sacrifice. As the eldest of the four March sisters, she carries the weight of responsibility while yearning for a life of love and comfort. Meg is deeply rooted in her values, often torn between her dreams of wealth and the simple joys of her family.

Amy March embodies a fascinating contradiction of privilege and aspiration. As the youngest of the March sisters, she often appears self-absorbed and materialistic, longing for the finer things in life. Yet, beneath this surface lies a passionate artist, driven by a desire to prove herself and make her mark on the world.

Jo March, on the other hand, stands as a fierce embodiment of independence and defiance. With her spirited nature and refusal to conform, she speaks out against societal expectations, aspiring to carve her path as a writer.

Beth March is the gentle soul of the March sisters, embodying tenderness and selflessness. She possesses an innate kindness that draws others to her, often prioritizing the needs of her family above her own. Beth’s character is marked by her love for music and her talent with the piano, which serves as a sanctuary for her creative spirit. She is also confronted by illness, which adds a layer of fragility to her character.

Each woman is a unique force, capable of greatness, and together, they shape a future filled with hope, equality, and empowerment. Their journeys remind us that true strength lies in unity and unwavering spirit. These women represent us-our dreams, aspirations, sacrifices, and duties

Heartfelt Monologues from “Little Women” That Inspired Me to Write

“Women, they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts. And they’ve got ambition, and they’ve got talent, as well as just beauty. I’m so sick of people saying that love is just all a woman is fit for. I’m so sick of it.”~JO MARCH

Well, I’m not a poet. I’m just a woman. And as a woman, there’s no way for me to make my own money. Not enough to earn a living or support my family. And if I had my own money, which I don’t, that money would belong to my husband the moment we got married. And if we had children, they would be his, not mine. They would be his property. So don’t sit there and tell me that marriage isn’t an economic proposition because it is. It may not be for you, but it most certainly is for me.~AMY MARCH

“Just because my dreams are different than yours doesn’t mean they’re unimportant.”~MEG MARCH

“I want to be great or nothing.”~AMY MARCH

“I’d rather be a free spinster and paddle my own canoe”~JO MARCH
