Attention is All You Need! Learning How to Read Research Papers (Properly)

So here comes the experience of session #2 organized by GDGoc about Research Papers.

This session was all about making research papers feel less intimidating and more manageable.

We learned practical ways to read a research paper properly, starting with a bird’s-eye view instead of jumping straight into complex sections. The 5 Cs framework (Category, Context, Correctness, Contributions, and Clarity) really stood out and made it easier to understand what to focus on while you do reading.

The session also introduced useful tools, including how AI can be used smartly to support understanding rather than replace thinking. Another helpful takeaway was the idea of building a personal data bank of papers to track key insights and references over time.

The session was conducted by Hammad Armaghan and organized by GDGoC. Overall, it was simple, practical, and especially helpful for beginners who struggle with research papers.

Final Thought
