Depression..Anxiety... What!?.
Go Work with requisite Hunger to Succeed...You Will..
There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure. - Gen Colin Powell, US Army
Aim
My aim is to challenge those willing young women & men who have that motivation within to go out there and shatter the Status Quo.
In olden times, say about early seventies/eighties, so many paperbacks surfaced in the bookstores about ‘How to….’.
Millions of copies were sold. Authors became rich. Whether anyone else did, never came to fore.
In these AI & ML and Social Media times too, the world is once again flush with similar efforts. Time will tell us how many benefitted from that!.
There are numerous stories of young people slowly burning out.
Although, they show the desire for getting up early in the mornings, have detox formulae, perform ‘Surya Namaskars’, and go for long walks in the meadows etc. But end result!!.
Just the desire.
Where is the hunger to succeed?!

Courtesy: Yahoo images. Just read the Hunger in his eyes, his gesture. This much liked picture of Mark Spitz remains etched in every sports lover’s mind since Munich Olympics, 1972. No swimming goggles. No shaving of head. Moustache still intact. And... Seven Golds. Seven World Records. His favourite Stroke? Butterfly; the Toughest of them all. That happens when you are that hungry. His record of Seven Golds in a single edition of Olympics was broken only in 2008... by Michael Phelps. Another man with great Hunger!!.
Whether any of them could truly manage to take up & continue with that kind of regimens for a few days, months or years, is yet to become known.
It takes immense strength of character to pick up and begin that process for days, months and years; come rain, hail, snow or sleet.
Not talking theory here!!. Skeptics may please forgive.
Just that we read repeated stories of melancholy, depressive thoughts, anxiety, unfair deals and a desire to earn millions (just the desire).
We need story(ies) of that special effort at least a few of them made in a sustained manner over long periods of time and met with phenomenal success.
If there indeed be such stories, these must be shared with the environment to propel others to make similar efforts towards accomplishing their goals.
Haven't read one, though!.
Personally, one reads & follows lots of sports champions, corporate heroes, military leaders, teachers, academicians, engineers, architects, and erudite women & men with philosophical tendencies.
Of their lives, failures, accomplishments, and their successes.
What happened to an Ettore Majorana!. How successful was a Ms 89 degrees!. How blessed is Michael Phelps or how Mark Spitz won psychological battles earning him seven World Records within two days!.
Those ‘falls & get ups’ Nadia did. Cars which great engineers designed, and not one sold. Those designed by the ordinary ones, sold in millions.
That Wolf Messing and that Yuri Geller who had to face repeated ridicule but still persisted to arrive where they did.
Or, what happened between Microsoft and Apple in the eighties!.
That Reinhold Messner who climbed the Everest and many other peaks without oxygen support!.
When John F Nash Jr said ‘keep punching the wall till stone breaks’. Stories of grit and persistence in the face of failures, adversity.
Battles are won with determination. Look at this FTA deal between India and Britain of 24 July 2025. It was persistence of over two decades. Though took just two minutes to sign.
History is taught not for teaching’s sake. It is taught so we draw lessons from it’s successes & failures. And succeed. (Please watch that Tamil/Telugu Movie ‘Ratchasi (Madam Geetha Rani, dubbed in Hindi)’.
We need authors on Medium and other such platforms to tell us as to what they accomplished with sustained efforts in the face of adversity.
My take is very simple.
There is no point in telling others of your problems, although it is not a bad idea to share one’s sorrows. Rather than, however, continuing with the same line, it may be better to get up and look the problem square into its eyes.
Put in efforts. Set example by way of a success story for others to draw inspiration from your trials & tribulations, your failures and your success.
And, write about it. To become a Lighthouse for others.
That will receive more reads, claps, greater attention and much more satisfaction of having spent a life of worth.
Suggest you go out there, put in your full blooded & honest efforts. Then watch. The entire Universe shall line up to support you!.
Taste unparalleled success.
That will be true service unto the society.
For, your success is my success too. That is way one has grown up!.
You will be emulated. And respected. More.
