sometimes, you don’t outgrow places— you outgrow people. not because you’re better, not because they are less, but because something inside you keeps stretching while they remain where they are. and one day, you realize— they can no longer hold the version of you you are becoming. to them, your growth feels unfamiliar. threatening, even. you become a mirror they didn’t ask for— reflecting everything they chose not to pursue, not to face, not to become. so they speak. soft words, carefully wrapped in “logic” and “reason,” but somehow they always leave behind a trace of doubt. and if you’re not careful, you’ll start shrinking— folding yourself into a version that fits their comfort.
but you weren’t meant to be understood by everyone. you were meant to become. and becoming… is not always convenient for the people who knew you when you were smaller.
so learn this gently: distance is not cruelty. silence is not betrayal. and leaving is not always loss. sometimes, it is the only way you can keep growing without forgetting who you are. because at the end of it all, no one will ever fully understand what it means to live inside your mind, your body, your becoming— except you.
so choose yourself, even if it feels unfamiliar. even if it feels lonely. because blooming was never meant to be comfortable.
