My rich Idol and I

Both of us were born to the same parents in the same environment (I will debug this later), but my idol and best friend got rich and found love, and I am as broke as when I was a kid. Now, I am pressing on the difference so much because my idol was a very bad learner or student when we were young, and I was excellent at things that normal people failed at or were slightly behind at.

You can say I was considered the genius prodigy in the family when I was bagging straight 99 percentiles at such a young age, but I was struggling inside, which is what people didn’t see (well, that’s a story for a different time). Anyways I was saying I was the rich prodigy, rich in talent not by money, I was rich but my life turned out to be just about that only and nothing else, I ended up being broke, a failure, depressed and anxious all at the same time but my idol got rich, is content, had a great social life, settled his life, found love and is prospering. Stunned! yeah, me too, well not really, I always believed in him and always wanted good things for him seeing how he struggled through life at a young age, well saying he struggled could be an overstatement because he enjoyed life always too along the way and me on the other hand was always cooped up inside with my so called books and other life challenges that I was trying to carry all alone.

Now, about how!?

well, that’s a question to ponder for me too, since I have zero idea and I can only guess, hoping my guess will hit the real mark after I shoot it in the dark, so here it goes:

Theory 1: My idol was not good at academics but ended up the most successful in the entire family, because when he was not good at things he learned to work for them giving his 100%, and me on the other hand since academics came so easy to me never learned to give my full potential to the things I wanted.

Well this factor is subtle but you will feel it how it works, a person who gets nothing by little work might eventually learn to give his/her 100% to it so that he/ she can atleast achieve 50% of it, now this my friends is a very important skill giving your 100% to something which I never learned since I would score pretty good just by learning a few things and still would ace it, and never nearing to the threshold of getting frustrated by the outcome and trying harder the next time, I was always just fine at getting good grades I mean it was enough whatever I was getting and after sometime when no ambition in me got left since I was getting good grades and it almost became like a secondary nature, so when I was hit by the challenges or start hitting low grades I couldnt grasp what was going wrong, you wont believe me when I say that I had zero idea what the heck was going on? meaning I should have just known that I am not working hard enough but I didnt, it messed up my entire system as to what the heck is happening why grades are going down for no reason because I am the genious prodigy who gets good grades no matter what, so this mentality and zero self-awareness became my biggest drawback.

Theory 2: He knew where to go, I didn’t.

I was just as self-aware as an ant to building a 163-story high burj khalifa, drowning in my pathetic desires and self-loathing needs, and completely buzzed out of the system, but he was self-aware every day of the life he has lived (I am guessing).

Theory 3: Well, I was the genius prodigy

This whole article can be condensed and summed up to this very last theory: I was the genius prodigy who absorbed anything and everything like a sponge in one go. That’s what actually might have happened in the long run. I learned everything without filtering, and hence, I learned every belief and system like a bookworm without application.

I grasped the whole environment and started living in it without ever thinking that this is just an isolated system(chemistry term), and all the beliefs and things people around me hold are just personal. On the other hand, my brother started debugging them by making his way in the outside world. Also, since he wasn’t good at grasping things that were taught (or you can say he didn’t want to), he never absorbed the already established environmental beliefs.

well, that’s all about it…until next time
