Les Rues de Paris

Navigating some of the bridges around the highways was fun, and the sun setting over the river was lovely.

As we came into the city, I found a market with Fruit and Bread… left outside of it in a bag, and figured it’d be okay to have a couple. We arrived here in Paris with less than $300 usd (which is even less in € what with the trumpian confederates destroying the economy–part of their plan to take over USAmerica, no doubt). As I sat there eating an Orange, a Sister who lived there gave me a warm Vegetarian Split Pea-Potato Soup. They blended the Potatoes to be smooth and mix with the Split Peas, and added some Stock to keep it from being too thick. I’ve made plenty of Split Pea Soups with Potate before, but never like this. I figured this was a French style of preparing this Soup, and obviously I appreciated it very much; as did the man in a sleeping bag down the street who I passed the other half of it to.

We walked for hours through the lamp-lit streets, on the lookout for any other bits of food to scavenge. We passed many wonderful looking shops and restaurants, but I couldn’t afford to buy food, nor anything, really.

Passing a nice looking cathedral, we found a bag of Croissants and Pastries and a delicious sandwich left on the ledge! The Bread being slightly hardened from being left out in the air for however long did not detract even a little bit of enjoyment from [what I saw as] this Divine Gift. My first Pain Français–and I was hungry, too.

Délicieux.

Délicieux.

Ryger enjoyed a Croissant (he loves BUTTER) I a Pastry with Chocolate in it, and the other items in the bag were given away to other urchins of The Street.

“World class decadence, and people just throw it away…”

Wandering around in the dark, I saw a large gothic structure from afar, and decided to go check it out.

It turned out to be the famed Notre Dame —

’twas after midnight so closed, but still ominously magnificent in the light of the night. I took some cool photos, and checked outside a nearby restaurant for Ryger and found steak, tuna, and ham, with Potato and other Veggies. I also found a container with a fitted lid to put all this in. There was so much, the container and Ryger’s belly were both full.

Scavenging is a great way to feed a dog; any fancy restaurant throws away a lot of meat.

After this, I figured I’d better sleep a bit, so scouted around the area and first found a public toilet which had a nearby immigrant camp set up of more than a dozen tents (I then knew where to bring unwanted food). After more walking around I found a spot along the river that was away from walking people and traffic, and there laid out the s.bag around 4am for a few hours of rest…
