My Journey of Bringing Smiles
On 25th Jan, I was called to attend an induction training from the practice I was going to work on. Hours passed; the session was overtaken by a person who is the head of CSR in the company. Being a fresher I am very new to the things of Corporate Social Responsibility. Days passed, I responded to the email invite to attend a teaching activity in the nearby government school and was added to the whatsapp group later along with Prachi, Nikita and Namdeep. I was asked to teach 6th standard Science in the Bellandur school along with Prachi. I still remember how I taught science to the kids and meeting similar people.
An year later I am regular to volunteering and have started attending the activities like Friday teaching, Audiobook Recording, Scratch programming Workshops and Science Lab inaugurations.
I understood the goal of Bringing Smiles is to spread joy and knowledge to children in schools where STEM education is virtually non-existent, and this very much matches my belief of “Role of Education In Decreasing Poverty.”
Brillio Bringing Smiles
Education plays a central role in preparing individuals to enter the labor force, as well as equipping them with the skills to engage in lifelong learning experiences.
The direct effect of education on poverty reduction is through increasing the earnings/income or wages. The indirect effect of education on poverty is important with respect to ‘human poverty’ because as education improves the income, the fulfillment of necessities becomes easier and raises the living standard which surely means the fall in human poverty.

In **Brillio**, every Friday is volunteering day, which means we could work in person with teachers and students. Through these interactions, we are nurturing relationships to build lifelong bonds and change lives.

Samarthanam Trust has over 5,000 audio books to help students with disabilities achieve their educational goals and Bringing Smiles volunteers help in building a digital book library for blind students to help them visualize a bright future.

The Top Volunteers of 2018
I was awarded one of the top volunteers who clocked maximum hours for the year 2018 and as a reward to our effort, we were taken to Ladakh. Exploring Khardungla and Leh was most memorable vacation/trip I have been to.

Youth Inclusion — Life Project 4 Youth
Associating with LP4Y is the best part of my volunteering with Bringing Smiles. I was asked to design the curriculum for a Digital Literacy program for the young girls to support the social and professional integration of young people in situations of great exclusion.
Every saturday my routine is to complete my work as soon possible and travel for 20 kms to teach this talented young girls.

Now Brillio Bringing Smiles turns #4! In four short years, we have engaged nearly 36,910 young minds and clocked in over 25,000 volunteering hours. Our environment sustainability efforts helped us in reducing our carbon footprint by 25%.

One of the better-known benefits of volunteering with Brillio Bringing Smiles is the impact on the community. Volunteering allows you to connect to your community and make it a better place. Even helping out with the smallest tasks can make a real difference to the lives of young kids. And volunteering is a two-way street: It can benefit you and your family as much as the cause you choose to help. Dedicating your time as a volunteer helps you make new friends, expand your network, and boost your social skills.
