Q: First things first! Introduce yourself. What’s your story?

Will Reeves: I’m Bay Area through and through. I grew up in Sonoma in the North Bay, went to college in the East Bay and co-founded Membo in San Francisco in 2013.

Colin Pace: I’m husband and soon-to-be father working on a startup with a great team.

Q: Describe San Francisco in a word.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about San Francisco?

WR: Walkability. Aimlessly walking the entire city is a single day is a luxury unique to this city.

CP: Innovation and collaboration

Q: What’s your favorite neighborhood?

WR: La Mission.

Q: Where do you like to buy books?

WR: Green Apple Books.

Q: What coffee shop makes an irresistible cup of joe?

WR: Answering what coffee shop does not make an irresistible cup of joe would be easier. But, I like Rainbow Grocery Cafe’s Stumptown coffee and Philz.

Q: Where do you like to buy records?

WR: Rooky Ricardo’s in Lower Haight!

Q: How do you like to spend your Sundays?

WR: Meeting friends for coffee and then setting out on a walking safari of the city.

CP: Rock Climbing then eating pizza

Q: Where do you like to go to get work done?

WR: Philz on Larkin (if there’s room).

CP: Home, office, or coffee shop

Q: What’s your favorite park in the city?

WR: Buena Vista. The view from the top of the park is unmatched.

CP: Golden Gate Park

Q: What’s your favorite lunch spot?

WR: Saigon Sandwich on Larkin.

CP: Doña Mago

Q: Where do you like to go for a local getaway?

Guerneville — an hour outside of San Francisco, does not lead to Mordor.

WR: The Russian River around Guerneville, but I also love Pescadero.

CP: Jamestown

Q: What’s your go-to brunch spot?

WR: I don’t really brunch (I know, blasphemous!). The one time I participated in that SF tradition I met friends outside of Brenda’s Southern Kitchen on Polk Street. I waited in line for two hours then passed out for the rest of the day from a belly full of grits and collared greens. Delicious, but ruined a perfectly good Sunday!

CP: Usually mum’s house

Q: What’s your favorite place to see live music?

WR: Bottom of the Hill, Rickshaw Stop and Hemlock Tavern.

CP: Club Deluxe

Q: What’s your favorite place to catch a movie?

WR: The Roxie in the Mission or the New Parkway in Oakland.

CP: From the comfort of my couch.

Q: What are your favorite museums?

CP: de Young.

WR: I love the de Young, but I’ll wander the Exploratorium any day.

Q: Where do you go to satisfy a burrito craving?

WR: Farolito!

CP: Amy’s Frozen Burritos, every Mexican restaurant, home…I eat a lot of burritos (like an abnormal amount).

Q: What local event or festival do you look forward to the most?

WR: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass.

Q: What would you say is the best spot in town to meet new people?

PianoFight — not a dueling piano bar.

WR: Pianofight and BrainWash Cafe midweek. Revolution Cafe on a Friday. Dolores Park on a weekend.

CP: The climbing gym.

Q: What street or neighborhood has your favorite street art?

WR: The Mission. Clarion is one of the most interesting and dynamic public spaces in the city.

CP: Sherwin Williams building back alley off South Van Ness.

Q: The Giants are playing — what are you doing and where?

WR: The Tempest.

CP: Usually doing something else anywhere.

Q: What Instagrammable spots are guaranteed to get Likes?

WR: Climb to Coit Tower and then descend the Filbert Staircase. The vista from Baker Beach is guaranteed to blow up your Instagram though.

Q: You have friends in town who want to see “real” San Francisco — where do you take them?

WR: The “real” San Francisco is everywhere. Walk 10 city blocks in any direction and it will present itself. Places like Revolution Cafe, the Brainwash, The Uptown, Trouble Coffee, City Lights Bookstore, Spec’s Bar, Red’s Place, Clarion Alley, 24th Street, Stockton St., Clement St., Larkin St. in my opinion are particularly “real.”

CP: The Mission

Q: Where do you like to go for Happy Hour?

WR: If it’s a nice day, you can find me at The Phoenix Hotel sipping $5 Greyhounds by the pool.

The Tenderloin’s best kept secret is the best Happy Hour in town.

What do you think is the best place to take a first date?

WR: Pianofight for drinks and a show. Revolution Cafe for wine and music. But the best dates are the ones where you wander the city and let the adventure come to you.

CP: Hard to say. Depends on the person and how well you know them.

Q: You’re on a grimy, worn bar stool — what dive bar are you in?

WR: Playing dice at Red’s Place. Watching a game at the Tempest. Waiting for a show at Hemlock. Searching the jukebox at Phone Booth. Playing pool at the Uptown. Chinese Mai Tai at LiPo.

CP: Starry Plough in Berkeley

Q: What are are your favorite hidden/secret spots?

WR: Filbert Steps. $5 buffet at Gold Club. Poetry room at City Lights. Game night at Folsom Street Foundry.
