My Jesi Scholar Journey: Learning Digital Marketing

Hey there! I recently embarked on my journey as a Jesi Scholar, diving into digital marketing. It has been an exciting ride, learning about users and how they interact with brands. Here is a quick recap of my progress so far.

Week 1: User Research The first week was all about user research, which really opened my eyes! I learned the importance of understanding not just what users do, but why they do it. Through surveys, interviews, and online behavior analysis, I realized that great marketing begins with deeply understanding people — their motivations and frustrations.

Week 2: Qualitative Research The second week delved into qualitative research. We used interviews and focus groups to get into the emotions and experiences of users. This type of research is great for storytelling and creating messages that resonate emotionally with the audience, strengthening connections.

Week 3: Empathy Mapping Week three introduced empathy mapping, which was a game-changer. We visualized what users think, feel, see, and do, helping us understand them as people, not just statistics. It reinforced that digital marketing is about building human connections, not just selling products.

Week 4: User Journey Mapping In week four, I learned about user journey mapping. This tool helps trace the steps users take when interacting with a brand. It showed me how each interaction matters and how smoothing out their journey leads to greater brand loyalty.

Week 5: User Personas In week five, we created user personas — fictional profiles based on real data. These help in visualizing different user types and tailoring marketing strategies to meet their specific needs.

Week 6: User Mapping Week six wrapped up with user mapping, which helped us identify touchpoints where users interact with brands. This tool is essential for improving user experience and keeping people engaged.

As the first 6 weeks of the 6 month scholarship program comes to an end , I am grateful for the opportunities it has provided me. I look forward for the remaining five months, during which I aim to further enhance my skills and knowledge, and make the most of this valuable learning experience.
