JUNE 2020 | COVID-19 UPDATE

Hello from Hope Shores!

On May 10, 2020, we announced our decision to delay summer programming to July with hopes of running youth camps at Hope Shores. Since then, we have very prayerfully been seeking wisdom and discernment from the Lord surrounding our July camp plans. We have also continued to stay updated and informed on all new guidance issued from the state of MN, the CDC, and the American Camping Association. After much prayer, discernment, reflection, and consultation with Hope Church leadership and our Camp Ministry Team, it has been decided to cancel all on-site programming for the summer.

We are extremely saddened to share this decision with you, and it was equally difficult to make. Throughout this process, we examined from every possible angle if we could hold youth camps at the Hope Shores property safely and responsibly while maintaining the integrity and quality of our program. In consideration of the current guidelines, we determined that the best option to both keep campers safe and provide valuable programming is to suspend our on-site programs and explore other ways to allow for many campers to experience Hope Shores this summer.

While on-site programming is cancelled, the camp experience is not! We are working hard and thinking outside-the-box to create a meaningful, alternative camp experience for each of the camper weeks that are currently scheduled in July. We are excited about the plans that we are making and firmly believe that God is in them. We will communicate with you promptly as soon as plans are finalized.

In the meantime, we are thrilled to introduce you to our summer staff! These six college-aged staffers are looking forward to ministering to campers, their families, and the wider camp community this summer.

If you currently have a registration for camp, we are offering four options regarding your registration fees:

1. Donate: Instead of taking your refund, make a donation to support the continued ministry of Hope Shores.
2. Credit: Transfer your payment to a credit on your account for a future registration at Hope Shores.
3. Refund and Donate: Consider taking a partial refund and donating the remaining funds.
4. Full Refund: We’re glad to give you a full refund of your registration fees (including deposit).
