Trust Your Voice on Crowdpac, Not Trump and Pelosi

We received a panicked email this week from “Nancy Pelosi” in our inbox. Her Democratic fundraising tool used to control her party and their agenda, ActBlue, is running short of money.

We found that curious as ActBlue according to Forbes had a huge year hauling in hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars.

Furthermore Nancy Pelosi said:

If I can’t fully fund my ActBlue in the next 24 hours, I fear Trump will pummel us.

The truth is the Republican Party isn’t going anywhere and we are certain at Crowdpac that the Republicans won’t be “silenced for good.” Pummeling is the worst word that can be used on the heels of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and the Capitol Riot’s at this moment.

On the right revelations came to light about Donald Trump’s fundraising scheme to amass a war chest for his campaign by automatically renewing donations monthly. When donors found out about this they asked for $122.7 Million Dollars in refunds. Jason Miller, a spokesman for Mr. Trump, downplayed the rash of fraud complaints and the $122.7 million in total refunds issued by the Trump operation.

Couple this news above with the new initiative by Trump to centralize all fundraising around him and you see the bigger problem in American politics.

“Donald Trump’s announcement this week that he is centralizing all of the fundraising tied to his image and likeness, boxing out the traditional fundraising mechanisms like the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee, and the National Republican Senate Committee” sends a chilling message to the American electorate. By centralizing all of these dollars into a Super PAC with few monetary controls to be used at Trump’s discretion means more centralized power in the hands of fewer people than existed before. It now becomes a monetary silo controlled by one if you are a Republican.

“There’s only one way to contribute to our efforts to elect America First Republican conservatives, and in turn to make America great again, and that’s through Save America PAC and DonaldJTrump.com,” Trump said at the Conservative Political Action Conference last week in what was his first public appearance since leaving the White House. During the speech he also talked about the need to “get rid” of the “the RINOs that we are surrounding with” that “will destroy the Republican Party and the American worker,” using the acronym for “Republicans in name only.”

What’s sadly happened is both sides and primarily the leading fundraisers on each side, Pelosi and the DNC and Trump and the RNC, have inflamed an already tenuous moment in our country by pouring gasoline on the fire.

If you are a candidate for either party you supposedly can’t get elected without jumping onto ActBlue or Winred and “paying into the system” that isn’t controlled by you. In turn the “powers that be use that money to point financial missiles at each other” so each side can stay in power. It’s a “Cold War of Money” and The Cold War lasted decades only our country can’t afford this hateful partisanship any longer.

Money in politics is about power in politics. While Crowdpac leans left, that’s our user base, we don’t subscribe to control by anyone but you over how you raise and spend your money. Our end game is to give candidates tools to speak to voters and voters tools to speak to candidates. What Crowdpac really wants is more people to have their voices heard than just the 1–3% of wealthy donors to Trump and Pelosi because this messaging above helps no one but themselves. The more money they raise, the more power they accumulate, the more the “pummeling” of each party continues. It’s an endless cycle of “silencing” the other side for good. Total defeat is not a Democratic ideal.

How can we reach any compromise when the heads of each party put out this rhetoric?
