Spring comes late in New York this year. Karen and I had prepared to visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to see the cherry blossoms, only to find out that most of the trees had not yet come into bloom.
Meanwhile, my nephew in Ithaca, New York told me that it still snowed in mid-April.
This poem came to mind:
“The snow blames spring for being late. It shows anger by scattering in the garden, pretending to be flowers.” (Spring Snow by Han Yu, 768–824)
