A Small Note That Reminded Me Why I Share Tools
A few days ago, I got another note from a tech founder.
They had qualified for the free Notion Business + AI trial I shared earlier and were using it to kickstart their setup. It wasn’t a long message, just a quick thank-you. But it made me pause.
Over the past couple of months, I’ve been getting small bits of feedback from people using my Notion templates. Most of them are short messages. A few came from tech founders who found my work while setting up their systems. Some of them mentioned the Notion Business referral specifically and thanked me for sharing it.
That part caught me by surprise.
I don’t usually think much about referrals when I share tools. Most of the time, I’m simply passing along things I already use myself.
But seeing multiple people actually benefit from it made me stop and reflect.
Why Notion Business
I use Notion to build and manage everything around my side projects: templates, dashboards, planning systems, and experiments. It’s been my default workspace for a long time.
For solo creators, the free version is often more than enough.
But for teams or founders building something bigger, Notion Business + AI can be a very different experience. The permissions, shared spaces, and AI features make it easier to scale systems without constantly rebuilding them as things grow.
That’s the context in which the referral made sense to share.
About the Free Trial
If you qualify, the trial can unlock up to 6 months of Notion Business + AI for free. At normal pricing, that’s worth over $12,000, which can be a meaningful head start if you’re early-stage.
This isn’t for everyone. From what I’ve seen, qualifying startups are usually:
- Tech-enabled companies
- SaaS products
- Teams actively building and collaborating
If that sounds like you, it can be a solid way to set up your workspace properly without worrying about cost upfront.

Why I’m Sharing This Here
I’m using Medium as a place to document my creator journey, even if I’m a bit behind on the writing side of things :). Not everything I write about is a template. Sometimes it’s just a note about something useful I’ve come across while building.
Hearing from template users and founders who benefited from the referral reminded me that even small shares can have real impact. If something I already use helps someone else move faster, that feels worth passing along.
If you’re working on something new and want to see if you qualify, you can check the Notion referral here:

Thanks for reading. I also share Notion templates and tools I build on Gumroad if you want to explore more.
