Mabel did not like her roommate Haven, but she liked cheap rent. The apartment that they lived in had a sick view of New York City and her part of the rent was dirt cheap. So she did not fuss much and tolerated the apartment which Haven loved to entertain in.

You could call it “entertaining,” Mabel guessed.

Mabel had picked up a glasses of rosé the morning after Haven had had “company.” It was early in the morning, but she took a swig from the bottle— it was too expensive for her not to.

“Amazing,” she gulped.

She never imagined that later that day she would get a call from Haven begging her to come to France.

“Haven, I have a job — ”

“You barely pay any rent and if you come here, I promise you it will be worth your while…”

Shaking her head throughout the call, Mabel gasped when Haven told her there was $50,000 that she could have if she went to France. Haven made bank, there was no explaining how but she did. Why Mabel’s rent was so cheap and $50,000 would make a big difference to her.

“You can hate me in Nice, Mabel, so are you in or not?”

“In.”

“Bring a bathing suit Mabel baby, we are going to be yachting a bit.”

Mabel knew, she had seen Haven on a yacht on her social media — she followed the bitch.
