Projekt Ilaiyaraaja Season III — 339/365 — Maane Thene

Naangal was a rip-off of The Case of Notorious Nun in the Perry Mason series with Sivaji Ganesan playing Perry Mason (originally played by Raymond Burr). Sivaji looks exactly like Raymond Burr (check out the posters of the original).

I have already posted one amazing song from the movie in Season I — Paarthathenna Paarvai — a lilting duet by SPB and KS Chithra.

The song that I have chosen today is a Qawwali style song with the apt orchestration required for the song. The harmonium, tabla, mandolin and triangle int he first interlude and of course shehnai in the second interlude along with hand claps create the perfect instrumentation for the song. Wonderfully sung by S Janaki and Arun Mozhi, the song will be a fun addition to your list.
