Guo Jing, the male protagonist in The Legend of the Condor Heroes, was a slow learner, down-to-earth, kind, and naive. Despite being mediocre in the beginning, he was able to achieve greatness and become one of the most powerful heroes in the Jinyong Wuxia series.

I, too, was a slow learner, often being dismissed and disrespected by the people I allowed to be closest to me. Despite my being a lazy, happy-go-lucky, and easily distracted person, I was able to see through patterns in human nature, Medium, Forex Trading, Casino Gambling, and other aspects.

I didn’t have the internal energy and physical techniques to hit my enemy with my palm to send him flying from Singapore to the United States. If yes, I could compete with travel agencies in price wars. There was no guarantee that the person would end up alive, and he could land somewhere random.

With my ability to spot patterns, I can find opportunities to monetise, and with the right people and resources, I will become an asset to the people I allow into my life.

Guo Jing was fortunate to be born alive; his parents were being hunted down by villains, his mum gave birth to him while fleeing from their enemies, and his dad died during the process.

Due to a bet between Jiang Nan 7 Freaks and Quanzhen master, Jiang Nan 7 Freaks were to find Guo Jing and impart their skills to him, while the Quanzhen master would find Yang Kang to impart his skill to him, and they were to meet again in 20 years time to have a match.

Yang Kang, Guo Jing’s sworn brother at birth, was a pure Machiavellian. Despite being shocked by his true Han identity, he continued to follow the Jin prince's father, who had tried to kill his parents and Guo Jing’s family.

He schemed his way through, learned forbidden arts, 9 Yin Bone Crushing Palm from the blind Mei Chao Feng, and even harmed Guo Jing and his beloved partner, Huang Rong.

Jiang Nan 7 Freaks only managed to find Guo Jing when he was 10 years old in Mongolia. However, they were disappointed that Guo Jing was a super slow learner. Despite 10 years of training him, he failed to grasp mastery of their skills.

Another Quanzhen master approached Guo Jing and taught him breathing and sleeping techniques that helped him to build internal energies that would enable him to grasp martial arts more easily.

When we do not build strong foundations for ourselves, we become prey instead of predators.

When Guo Jing first explored the Central Plains, he happened to encounter Huang Rong disguised as a male beggar. Guo Jing treated her kindly and was willing to give all his possessions to her. Born with a single dad while her mum passed on after her birth, she felt genuine love and care from Guo Jing.

Huang Rong complimented Guo Jing very well. Guo Jing was simple-minded, kind-hearted, and naive, while Huang Rong was extremely smart and talented. Through Huang Rong’s quick wit and observations, she managed to secure the beggar sect leader Hong Qi Gong to teach Guo Jing the most powerful Xiang Long 18 Palms technique.

Qi Gong, like the other masters who taught Guo Jing martial arts, would almost vomit blood whenever he taught him the moves. He took a long time to master the 18 palms, one move at a time.

Huang Rong, on the contrary, easily mastered the Dog-Beating Staff Technique 36 moves within a short time. She cooked Qi Gong's delicious meals in exchange for teaching legendary skills to herself and Guo Jing.

Both Huang Rong and Guo Jing had many encounters with the villains in the drama series; even the most powerful villain, Ouyang Feng, was led by the nose by Huang Rong, Zhou Botong, and a few others.

When you are too desperate for something, people can easily mislead or deceive you, regardless of whether you are a hero or a villain.

There was a scene where the remaining Jiang Nan 6 Freaks, 5 of them were killed at Huang Rong’s father's island, Peach Blossom. Her dad, Huang Yaoshi, one of the most powerful figures in the series, was misunderstood as the killer. He did not try to prove himself, and Guo Jing threw tantrums at Huang Rong.

When we are not in control of our emotions, we destroy relationships that we later regret. Life circumstances are not an excuse for uncontrolled emotions.

Luckily, Huang Rong was able to figure things out and forced the hand of the killer to reveal himself. The killer, Yang Kang, tried to silence her but was infected by the poison on her protective vest instead. He died tragically as the owner of the poison was not willing to heal him, and Yang Kang killed his nephew, Ouyang Ke.

After the truth was revealed, the only survivor of the Jiang Nan 7 Freaks, the blind man, looked for Guo Jing and was sorry for the misunderstanding.

In the finale, the most powerful figures tried to compete for Number 1 at the Huashan peak. Huang Rong tried to influence Ouyang Feng’s mind by saying out the false instructions of the 9 yin manual. He went demonic and crazy. Most of the figures were heavily injured.

Guo Jing saw the harm that having powerful martial arts had caused and wanted to refrain from using them; he even wanted to forget them. He had no intention of competing for number 1. Ironically, he became number 1.

In life, when we compete for fame, success, money, and women, people can easily manipulate us. Everything becomes performative. Ironically, when we do not chase, we end up having what we want previously; it takes longer, but more lasting.

The Legend of the Condor Heroes Hong Kong 1994 version, 35 episodes, was very comedic, and Huang Rong, played by Athena Chu, had played her role extremely well, very playful, street smart, and talented.

The diplomat in my stories loved her very much; he desired his wife to be as smart as Huang Rong, yet his wives often outsmarted him. He wanted to control them, yet they caused him to become broke. He always thinks of himself as someone smarter than his wives.

A false perception of oneself can lead to chaos and a false life.

Guo Jing was able to attract Huang Rong as his lifelong companion, as he was genuine. The diplomat was calculating, attracted his former wife, but it didn’t last.
